Customer Review Summary
Oxtail is what diners return to most, described as tender, juicy and full of rich flavour, and often served with rice and peas. Curry goat comes close behind, called tender and falling off the bone, alongside jerk chicken that reviewers describe as smoky and seasoned to perfection. Dumplings, festival bread and plantain round out plates, and one reviewer praises a goat meat sandwich. Several mention generous portions, hot fresh food and steamed vegetables packed in the meal. Reviewers repeatedly describe the staff as welcoming and family-like, with one team recommending the oxtail to first-time Jamaican food diners, and a few mention the music and a lovely sit-in atmosphere. The one complaint comes from a delivery customer who calls the chef rude, though the same review says the brown stew chicken was delicious and plans a return. One owner told a customer the dumplings and chicken would take fifteen minutes because they were being made fresh.

“Belly buss! Soon as the owner told me ‘give mi 15 mins, mi a mek the dumpling and chicken fresh’… I should’ve known this meal was about to HIT And trust me… she never disappointed. Everything came out hot, fresh and seasoned proper. The chicken juicy and full a flavour, the dumplings soft and fresh — proper authentic Jamaican food. You can genuinely taste the effort and heat in every bite. This is most definitely one of the best yard food spots I’ve had in a while. Big respect to Jambay Kitchen!”

“First I would like to mention how kindly the staff treated me!!! I truly felt at home and was treated with care! To say the food was amazing is an understatement.. I ordered oxtail with rice and coleslaw. It also came with fresh veg and steam veg. The entire meal was 10/10!! Especially the oxtail itself. The meat was tender, juicy and most of all it flavourful!!! I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Truly. If I lived close to this restaurant, i would be a regular customer without a shadow of a doubt!”

“This was my first time ordering from here. And I must say, the chef is RUDE! The food was so damn DELICIOUS 😋 they had no business delivering perfect 👌🏾 fresh, portion sized dishes like this. I was satisfied with the money spent. I had brown stew chicken, rice and peas, coleslaw, plantain. And grape juice. And everything was served hot, fresh, and tasty. I was surprised with STEAM VEG packed in my meal👌🏾 😎 which I didn't expect. I will be a returning customer. Large up the whole of unnu. Respect! 👊🏿”

“We stumbled upon Wingbay Caribbean Restaurant in Stoke Newington after finding it through Google reviews while attending a nearby event & the reviews absolutely did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, the vibe was chilled, welcoming, & full of warmth. Niki gave great hospitality, offering a level of genuine kindness & service that’s rare to find. It gave the whole experience an authentic family feel that made us feel right at home. The music was fantastic & really added to the great atmosphere. We ordered the boneless jerk chicken with fries, curry goat with rice & peas, coleslaw, & plantain & every single dish was absolutely delicious, the portions were generous also. The curry goat was tender, soft, & falling off the bone, while the jerk chicken was seasoned to perfection. Every bite was packed with authentic Caribbean flavours.
