Customer Review Summary

Pizza is the draw most reviewers raise, described as juicy, crispy and airy, with fresh toppings, and several call it the reason this became their favourite Italian. Pasta comes close behind, with fresh texture praised, while a seafood risotto and the soup of the day are also called tasty. Reviewers repeatedly describe the staff as friendly and warm, and a few mention generous portions and a big back room for gatherings and special occasions. The caveat comes from two three-star reviews. One longtime regular found the carbonara soggy with few bacon pieces, a handmade pasta they hardly could eat, and a Caesar salad loaded with bacon, and felt the place had changed since the ownership did. That reviewer still found the house wine drinkable and the server kind. Another says the carbonara looked different from the photos and that prices felt high for a small, quiet room. The first diner adds that staff asked why the food went unfinished.

“The food from here is hands down the best Italian pizza we've had ever, not just in London, our time started with Soup of The Day, the pizzaiolo and boss man is such an authentic host who simply recommended us what we wanted, getting us and our flavour profile down to a T. The pizza is juicy, crispy, crunchy, salty, airy, bouncy, all together to create a flavour experience you may only ever possibly have in Sardinia This place is mind-blowing and filled with love. The owner is one of the most passionate business owners we've ever met and fully knows the craft in and out after decades in practice. And yes, it's worth a detour. Go, order, you won't regret it 🥳🍕🍴”

“I went back to this place after few years because of the good memories I had about this place. I ordered my pasta carbonara and turned out to be the worst carbonara I ever had. The pasta was so soggy and very few bacon pieces in it. My girlfriend ordered a different pasta which is supposed to be handmade 1 and she hardly could eat it plus we ordered a Caesar salad and I never seen such a mess before. The amount of bacon in the Caesar salad was six times more than the carbonara. The house wine was still drinkable. This game as a complete disappointment I realised the whole thing has changed in a restaurant the ownership.the lady served us was great and kind and helpful but for sure this not the same place as before. I was going to this place for over 20 years but this is not the same place or food anymore . They asked us why we didn’t eat the food or finish it but it was obvious why! The bill came to over £65 and I was wondering why the place has many empty tables on Saturday night and did take long to understand that.”

“Had a wonderful evening at Il Bacio Stokey on Church Street. The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between cozy neighborhood charm and refined Italian dining. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared—from the fresh, perfectly textured pasta to the rich, comforting flavors that really transport you straight to Italy. A special mention goes to Chef Simone, whose passion clearly shines through in every plate. There’s a real sense of authenticity and care in the cooking, and it makes the whole experience feel personal rather than just another night out. The service was warm and attentive without ever feeling rushed, making it easy to relax and enjoy the meal at your own pace. Whether you’re there for a casual dinner or something a bit more special, Il Bacio Stokey is a place you’ll want to return to.”
