Farmer J Strand
“At Farmer J we care, we care where our ingredients come from and how our food is prepared. That’s why we are trying to change the game. Serving honest food, that rolls with the seasons, is mindfully sourced (from as many, high-welfare British farms as possible), is bursting with flavour and most importantly, is scratch cooked on-site.”

“I wanted to love this place but the so called 'hot' food was luke warm,under/overcooked, way to oily and SO SALTY! Plus it all went right through me. The dine in experience is cold and with a strange loud low vibration coming from somewhere was torture. I hated eating from the cardboard tray and the plastic lid going straight off to landfill. The concept is great and the staff lovely but the food experience I had was not.”

“I really wanted to like this place because the menu appears healthy, but when you look at the actual ingredients, they’ve added allergens (gluten, soy and/or dairy) to almost everything on the menu. There were 4 or 5 protein options, all but one had one of those allergens. It’s really disappointing to see a menu that pollutes food that would otherwise be healthy with allergens, and furthermore does it for the majority of the menu. It would be more reasonable if they had more options that were allergy free. I gave a couple stars because the staff was kind and helpful.”

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers split on the food at this Strand branch, and the grain trays are the most common point of contention. One reviewer found the grains full of black bits and strangely tart and sour, while another called the hot food luke warm, oily and very salty. A third says the egg pot has had shell in it three times in a row. Portions draw complaints as very small, and one reviewer objects that nearly every protein option contains gluten, soy or dairy. Others are warmer, describing healthy food that sits between a light lunch and a filling meal, with a lunchtime queue that moved quickly, and one calls the food awesome. Staff draw kind words from several reviewers, including a friendly barista with a smile and eye contact, though one reviewer reports being answered only with a head shake at the door. One diner also disliked eating from a cardboard tray with a plastic lid, and found the dine-in area cold with a loud low vibration.
