  “Not gonna lie food is okay he does over charge most of the time so make sure you know the price yourself… also he charges extra for his “whiskey sauce” even tho you don’t ask for it rumours that he scratches his parts while cooking but not sure”

  “The best pork ribs in London bar none! Really lovely food in generous portions - south London meets the southern U.S via the Caribbean. Prawns, Lamb, chicken are all superb, I love the coleslaw and the garlic bread rules! An absolute gem that I can't recommend too highly”

  “I love egi’s. I been getting food from there for a while, I normally get it online so I haven’t been instore. The food is amazing the sauce is great and they always listen to special requests. I can only imagine the friendly staff that work there. The only thing is the online price is way above what it is instore x”

  “Not been here in a few years, I used to always get the lamb chops meal. Last time I came here he had big juicy chops they were really good however he's changed them to these ridiculously thin dipressing things that shouldn't be served in a restaurant. So disappointed, especially since the price is almost double what it used to be. So sad to see another one of my favourite food spots completely fall off 😪”

  “I visited this place recently and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food—it was much better than I expected. While the appearance of the restaurant might not immediately catch your eye, don’t let that deter you. The owner, who takes on the roles of both server and chef, is genuinely a wonderful person. He’s incredibly humble and clearly passionate about what he does, which adds a personal touch to the dining experience. This establishment has so much untapped potential. With better marketing and visibility, I truly believe it could attract a much wider audience and become even more successful. It’s already a well-known spot in New Cross, but there’s room for it to grow and shine even brighter. If you’re in the area, I’d highly recommend giving it a try. The food and the welcoming atmosphere created by the owner make it a memorable experience, and it’s worth supporting a place with such heart and dedication.”

  “This is one of my favourite spots. I've been going here for over 14 years. The taste has been consistently good. I really love the chips. I wouldn't normally pick chips over rice but honestly they are something else. The coleslaw is also very good. Now about the chicken, the prices are always huge and cooked to perfection. Please treat yourself.”

  “I've had bad experiences with some Caribbean food, but the visit to Egi's altered my perception. My cousin recommended that I visit if I'm ever nearby. We placed our order over the phone 30mins to arrival. The food was handed to us within 2mins. Went home to give it a try and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the portion and the food was superb. The grilled chicken and pork ribs with the rice and peas was great. Loved it and I will be back for more.”
