About Dovetale
Dovetale is a European restaurant at 1 Dover Yard in Mayfair, London, where Two Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers leads a kitchen reworking European classics. The à la carte menu is built around British produce, and the culinary team creates dishes from what is in season. Breakfast and brunch bring shakshuka, while the Sunday roast comes with Yorkshire pudding, carrots and fried potatoes. Fish dishes include sea bream and sea bass, and a coconut and yuzu sorbet sits on the dessert menu. The dining room has big fireplaces, and a private dining room is set aside for groups, who can have starters, mains and desserts brought out to share. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday roast draws the most praise, with diners naming roast chicken, porchetta and half lobster alongside Yorkshire pudding, and one calling it exceptional. Shakshuka comes close behind at breakfast and brunch, while the sea bream, sea bass and beef are described as fresh and full of flavour. Also mentioned are a coconut and yuzu sorbet with coconut caviar and a Golden Bellini. Reviewers describe big fireplaces, comfy chairs and a calm room, with friendly staff and a sommelier who chose well. The complaints are specific. One Valentine's set menu diner found the bread stale and the main almost cold, waited around 20 minutes for anyone to take drink orders, and watched a replacement dessert arrive late enough for the ice cream to melt. Another said a filthy martini tasted like sea water and soap and came in small glasses for a steep price. One lunch ended with shared starters, mains and desserts passed around a large table.

“Lovely food and service here, we came for brunch and had the shakshuka eggs and sea bream. Both very fresh and full of flavour. I especially enjoyed the stylish and modern decor of the restaurant, it was an oasis of calm on a busy Sunday.”

“I want to start off by saying the the service was amazing and everyone was very lovely. However, I came here yesterday for a cocktail with my Mum for her birthday and we ordered two £21 cocktails and they looked like this. Not only were did they taste awful (I had the filthy martini and it tasted like sea water and soap) but they were both served in these weird little glasses with no embellishments whatsoever. Insane prices for what we got, I’d never go back there again. Came to £55 total with service charge for this. Crazy 😭”

“My family went here for Sunday roast and enjoyed the entire dining experience. We did not have a reservation but were seated right away. The servers were professional, present, personable and held good knowledge of the menu. An example was the suggestion of a wonderful cocktail, Golden Bellini, which my wife raved about. The food prepared by Chef Patrick Komada and staff was top notch. We ordered the Roast chicken, half lobster(x2) and porchetta which came with tasty sides such as salad, carrots, Yorkshire pudding and fried potatoes. Since it was Father's day, I was given fudge as a treat following the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant.”

“Was invited to a lunch. Quite a lot of people around our table - circa 10. The food was unpretentious and brilliantly executed. The ingredients were top notch. What was extra great is they brought a selection of starters, mains and desserts and we could all share and try them rather than just have one dish. Portions were ample and just so tasty. The sommelier was lovely and made the right choices. Beef and sea bass were amazing. In fact it all was. So friendly too. Will 💯 come back.”
