Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out friendly, attentive service, with several describing servers who went above and beyond and one praising a server's recommendations. The food draws are specific: the Sunday roast, where one reviewer calls the pork belly the star, the crispy duck bao and smashed burger, the Beef Wellington, and a fillet steak with béarnaise and garlic butter mash. Desserts come up repeatedly, especially sticky toffee pudding and tiramisu, along with chocolate fondant and sundaes from the ice cream bar. The complaints centre on pacing and execution. Two reviewers describe long waits for starters and a roast, one was served an incorrect starter, and another was told steak was out of stock and ate a burger instead. A soggy fried spiced cauliflower, an under-seasoned cod, and a table in a walkway also draw criticism. One reviewer says a dropped lemon wedge was never replaced. Even so, one diner notes that staff handled a problem with a dish professionally and generously, and another mentions a little celebration plate arriving at the table.

“I love the excellent food and service here. Toshko has been my server several times and has gone and above and beyond to provide stellar service. We are bigs fans of coming here for wonderful dessert and love the ice cream bar. This includes sundaes that are quite fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant. I have been to many of the Ramsay places and this one is secretly one of the best.”

“Was gifted a voucher so the choice was limited. I still regret the choice. Set menu isn't anything that a pub wouldn't do and at half the price! Waited 45 mins for an incorrect starter. Further wait of 15 mins for the correct one. Tiny plates and although the staff are doing their best (tip in mind) the food lacked the freshness I had hoped for. Duck bao buns were tasty although all of which tasted fried. Normally the crispy element is the skin but this, the meat also. At least the jaw got a good workout. They didn’t have steak in stock so had to have a burger… a burger! Completely pointless visit. Table for 2 is just the walkway to the main tables so save yourself the pain and cost by skipping this place at all costs. To any staff reading this. You were great! noted also was the chef with the largest beard that was almost touching the hot plates!! not even going to watch any of his shows after this ha”

“ALEXANDER THE GREAT WAS AN INCREDIBLE ASSET FOR OUR DINNER. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here and in large part because of the service from Alexander. The food and drinks were very good and I would recommend it. Olive and bread appetizers, butter chicken and fish and chip mains, house special gin and tonic, and desserts - raspberry sorbet, chocolate fondant, and tiramisu. All spectacular. Enjoy an and say hi to Alexander for me.”

“We recently dined at Gordon Ramsay’s Heddon Street Kitchen and overall had a very enjoyable experience. For starters, we chose the prawn cocktail and the fried spiced cauliflower. The prawn cocktail was excellent – fresh, well-presented and full of flavour. The fried spiced cauliflower was less successful. While the seasoning was pleasant, the cauliflower lacked the crisp texture I was expecting and was unfortunately quite soggy. For mains, we had the roasted cod and the fillet steak with béarnaise sauce, accompanied by Tenderstem broccoli and mash with garlic butter. The cod was nicely cooked, but on its own it was a little under-seasoned and lacked flavour. However, when combined with the crushed potatoes and rich red wine sauce, it became much more enjoyable. That said, the overall dish became rather rich and was difficult to finish. The fillet steak was cooked perfectly medium, juicy, tender and full of flavour. The béarnaise sauce was excellent and complemented the steak beautifully. The standout side dish was undoubtedly the mash with garlic butter – absolutely delicious and one of the highlights of the meal. The Tenderstem broccoli was also well cooked and a good accompaniment. Service throughout was quick, efficient and friendly, which added to the positive experience. Overall, there were some minor disappointments, particularly with the cauliflower and the balance of the cod dish, but the quality of the steak, sides and service made for a very pleasant meal. I’d happily return and would recommend it to others looking for a reliable dining experience in central London.”

“We had a wonderful experience at Heddon Street Kitchen. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of flavour, especially the crispy duck bao and smashed burger. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the meal. The little celebration plate was also a lovely touch. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and very tasty food. We’ll definitely be back!”
