Customer Review Summary

Diners most often single out the sirloin steak from the wood-fired grill, praised as charred outside and tender within, with the rostis, truffle rosti included, close behind. The lobster with gazpacho, tomato salad, chicken liver parfait toast and steak tartare also draw praise, and several describe staff who guide the menu and sit guests at the bar to watch the kitchen. Reviewers suggest letting the staff steer how much to order.

“We visited the restaurant as a group of three and decided to sit at the bar. It was such a lovely experience. We enjoyed some excellent drinks and delicious snacks while taking in the atmosphere. The restaurant is beautiful, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Sitting at the bar was especially enjoyable because you can relax, watch what’s happening around you, and really take your time. The food was absolutely fantastic everything we tried was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the whole experience. I would definitely come back again!”

“Went on a solo lunch, very spontaneous booked it in the morning. Place was nearly empty and was greeted well, very accommodating staff. First of all, been recommended this place few times already yet since it was on the pricier side couldnt get anyone to come with me so just decided to go solo. Everything they recommended was amazing, burst of flavours and well executed. Ordered the truffle rosti which was my favourite!! £35 but worth it! It was topped with so much truffle yet it wasnt too overpowering I can still remember closing my eyes while eating this and was so happy after hahah, melon crudo was interesting but would’ve ordered the other rostis they had in my opinion, the “french toast” was crazy good. It was what they recommended to me and it was hands down was a work of art.. the chicken was so tender melts in your mouth with all of the sauces inside. Highly recommend. Now with the mains I ordered seabass as I thought I would be full from all the starters. It was alright well grilled but nothing surprising its a sea bass which was £36… maybe next time if I was dining alone couldve ordered starters and snacks only as they were the most interesting and if going with the group couldve tried their famous steak! Bill was £160 for one person dining. There was a bit of a wait for the food but definitely would go back”

“I mean wow. Honestly I was a bit wary because of the reviews but then it came as recommended by a few people close to me so I thought I’d give it a go. The best steak in London by a country mile. Perfectly charred on the outside. Tender and juicy on the inside and packed with flavour. Just fatty enough to leave you smiling from ear to ear. Complimented perfectly by the salad and the most delicious potatoes that were at once savoury and naturally sweet - the skin was crisp without being hard or oily and the centre was tender and moist and just melted in your mouth once you bit in. The starter were to die for as well. Wonderful rostis- honestly, get them all. We did. Dorian is owned by the same people who own the Notting Hill fish shop so get the tuna tartare thing. If I had enough space in my stomach I would have also gotten one of the cooked seafoods. The steak tartare was wonderful, great potatoes, just crispy enough and the mustard is GREAT mustard and just the right amount. The steak flavour really cuts through as well. The pate is great. It’s just rich enough so don’t order too much as it’s plenty to share. Tomato salad was wonderful too. Service was also wonderful. Great at giving recommendations. And just sort of being barely there but also taking care of all your needs. We didn’t get wine or desert.”

“We went for lunch for my birthday and were super excited but I’m afraid I just don’t get the hype. There is club like music playing in the background and the restaurant is quite loud. I had a couple of cocktails which were really good but quite small and I was really put off by the cramped seating and paper table cloths. There is also one toilet for an entire restaurant which is a bit grim. We had a couple of small bite starters and then the steak, pork chop and sides. The sides were similar to home cooking and the meat was overly blackened which was unpleasant to the point where I trimmed the black char from my meat otherwise for me it wasn’t edible. The overwhelming flavour throughout all of the food was salt and/or burnt bitterness which is a shame because the ingredients are clearly good quality. They then started reorganising the restaurant for a wedding and so we felt silly still sitting there whilst tables were being physically moved around. The service is no better than in any other low end restaurant and there was no attempt to acknowledge a special occasion. I wouldn’t recommend or return, we skipped dessert and were met with a £280 bill. Overall a really forgettable meal.”

“A perfect meal. So many brilliant dishes, standouts were the lobster with gazpacho, wild mushroom salad and chicken liver parfait toast. Interesting flavour combinations without being fiddly. Staff were really friendly and helpful (big shout out to Mo for guiding us through the menu), and the barman was happy to talk us through cocktails, wine and show us what we were drinking. Great design, tunes and atmosphere. Perfect place for a treaty dinner.”
