Quick info
About Bocca Bocca
Bocca Bocca is a Neapolitan restaurant on High Rd Leytonstone in London, run by a Neapolitan owner. The kitchen makes its pizza by hand on a thin-crust dough, and the bar pours Amalfi-inspired cocktails alongside a wine list. Cheesy garlic bread, calamari and pasta dishes such as carbonara fill out the rest of the menu for those who want something beyond pizza. A Wednesday night deal gives midweek visits a reason to stop in, and no booking is required. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza is the draw, with reviewers praising the dough for its texture and flavour and calling the Neapolitan pizzas authentic, one singling out the Calabria vs Puglia. Close behind are the cheesy garlic bread, the burrata caponata, the calamari and a garlic mayonnaise one diner says their father adored, with the lasagna and salads also praised. Staff are described as friendly, polite and attentive, reviewers call the place dog friendly, and the Wednesday night deal is called fantastic value. The criticism is scattered but specific. One diner found the carbonara too salty, the fried squid batter not crispy and the first fork dirty, and thought the meal overpriced after the mussel spaghetti was unavailable. Another called the food bland and says Prosecco brought from a corner shop was served at the menu price. One reviewer says the phone line is routinely disabled, leaving no way to omit toppings on delivery orders.

“Best pizza I’ve ever had and trust me I eat a lot of pizza. Great place that should have queues to get a table. Lovely friendly staff too.”

“Waiter was fine, but the food is very bland and tasteless. They brought Prosecco from the corner shop then served it too us at the same price of the one on the menu. Then charged us full price plus service. I definitely wouldn’t recommend”

“Food was just okay but a bit disappointing for the price. The carbonara was too salty for my taste, and the ravioli (ordered because the mussel spaghetti was unavailable) was decent but nothing special. The fried squid was fine, though the batter wasn’t crispy. I also had to ask for a clean fork as the first one was dirty, and tap water wasn’t offered proactively. Overall, I think it’s a little overpriced for what it was.”

“Their pizzas are divine, 5 stars. However they routinely disable their phoneline, and there is no way to contact them to make dietary or preferential adjustments (e.g. omitting toppings) via any platform like Deliveroo. I'll happily adjust this to a 5 star review when they remedy this situation!”

“Have eaten takeaway from here a couple of times (and it's been really good) but this was my first time eating in. Pizza is excellent as you'd expect from a Napolitan owner! Burrata caponata and calamari were excellent and I think my dad wanted to marry the garlic mayonnaise! Great to have another good independent nearby, keep up the good work!”
