Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the oxtail kare-kare, including a newer version with bone marrow, describing the meat as tender and melting, with a rich peanut sauce. Close behind are the calamansi honey prawns, called crispy with a sweet, tangy sauce, and the beef lumpia. Others praise the chicken adobo, the homemade spaghetti with fried chicken and gravy, the longsilog, and the ube pandesal French toast at weekend brunch, where a bottomless drinks option is also mentioned. Diners describe the room as welcoming, with one comparing it to lunch inside someone's living room, and one birthday group enjoyed the karaoke. The main complaints are small. One reviewer found the adobo on the salty side and thought plain jasmine rice would suit it better than the strong garlic fried rice, and another felt the seafood noodles lacked the finesse of the other dish. One diner pointed out the sago missing from a jug of calamansi juice, and staff brought an extra jug.

“THE BEST BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH!!! You know the food good when it distracts you from drinking alcohol (cocktails were gorgeous too btw). Get yourselves the prawn starters!!! Oxtail was wonderful!! Loved the steak and eggs!! All the servers were so nice ( ◜‿◝ )♡ This one lovely lady recommended the cocktail with the rum in it (can't remember the name) and she was so correct because that was the best one!Alsoooo thank you to the pretty lady with the red hair and other pretty person with the hat (we liked your hat 😌).”

“Loved my experience at Bintang - it deserves more then 4.2 stars. Kare kare is one of the better versions I've had in recent years, and that homemade spaghetti with fried chicken and gravy was phenomenal. All the staff were so friendly, and even gave us an extra jug of calamansi juice when I pointed out the sago was missing in my first jug. Ambuence was great as it felt like having lunch inside someone's living room. It's a shame it's not located South of the river! Nevertheless, would come back again to try their other dishes.”

“A confident Filipino spot in London that shines where it matters most. The seafood noodles come with bold aromas and great flavour, though they don’t quite reach the same level of finesse as the other dish we had. The real standout is the oxtail with bone marrow - meltingly tender, beautifully balanced, and genuinely irresistible, the kind of dish you keep returning to without thinking twice. A memorable night with one clear star of the show.”

“We had a wonderful meal at Bintang Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, but the standout dish was the Oxtail Kare-Kare. We were the first ones to try the new version with bone marrow, and it was simply divine. The meat was incredibly tender and just melted in the mouth, while the rich peanut sauce was heavenly and full of flavour. The Beef Lumpia was also excellent—crispy, very tasty, and the portion size was generous. We also loved the Calamansi Honey Prawns. They were perfectly crispy, and the sweet, tangy sauce complemented them beautifully. The ambience was warm, cozy, and inviting, making it a lovely place to dine. The service was outstanding, the staff members were very friendly, Louise, in particular, made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. We can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!”

“This was my first time trying Filipino food and I was blown away. I had reserved a table for two but was pretty quiet on a Sunday evening so not necessary. They had outside space at the front, adequate indoor space as well as a lovely garden at the back which I chose to sit in seeing as the weather was good. I was served by Louise who did an amazing job at making our table feel super welcome as well as leaving really good food recommendations and helping me make decisions as there were a lot of good options to choose from. To start, we had the calamansi hot honey king prawns and the pandesal slider which were both worth every penny. I don’t always go for burgers but this was a great option, all burgers should taste like this. For my main, I got the chicken adobo with garlic fried rice. This was amazing however the garlic fried rice was already quite strong in flavour so the plain jasmine rice would’ve been perfect with the adobo as it was also on the slightly salty side which is what caused one less star instead of 5. Asides from that the chicken was super succulent and well flavoured. Portion was great too. For dessert I had a scoop of ube and a scoop of pandan ice cream which were wonderful. I definitely would come back again to try the rest of the menu and a big thanks to Louise for making it a memorable visit.”
