Quick info
About Sylva
Sylva is a Mediterranean restaurant on Trundleys Rd in London, set inside a park in a greenhouse-style room that lets in natural light. The kitchen makes its food from scratch on site, and the chicken schnitzel comes as a plate or as a schnitzel sandwich. Specials on the menu change constantly, and pastries, buns and a lemon polenta cake sit alongside the main dishes. Homemade chai is on the drinks list for those stopping in for something lighter. A private dining room gives groups a space of their own, and dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Schnitzel draws the most praise, whether as a chicken schnitzel, a schnitzel sandwich, or a children's plate of schnitzel with vegetables and bread with butter. Close behind are the chai, both homemade and dirty, along with the bruschetta and buns at brunch and a spinach dish with poached eggs. Reviewers also single out the lemon polenta cake and the cinnamon latte, and one says to try both. Several note that everything is made onsite from scratch, and the park setting, outdoor seating and cozy, light-filled interior come up repeatedly. One diner finds the menu so good it is hard to pick a dish and suggests returning to work through it, then coming back for the changing specials. The complaints are minor: one reviewer found it a bit pricey for the size, and another felt the service was a little impersonal, though most describe friendly staff. One group held a summer wedding celebration here, and they remember the wedding cake as a showstopper.

“We beat the Sunday rush by arriving just before 12, and I’m so glad we did! Everything here is made onsite, and you can really taste the quality. The chicken schnitzel was so yummy and their homemade chai is so nice. There’s so much more on the menu I want to try. Can’t wait to go back!”

“We had a wonderful dinner, everything tasted amazing and great portion size. Aperol Negroni was a treat too. Highly recommend and will come back again!”

“One of the best places around Deptford for food. The entire staff is amazing, the outside space is just perfect and inside is so cozy with plenty of natural light. The pastries and food are all perfectly crafted and amazingly tasty. There’s only one catch, because everything is so good it’s really hard to pick one dish! So my advice is for you to come multiple times and run through the entire menu, and then come again for the specials that change constantly.”
