  “Beautiful restaurant in the middle of Duke of York Square. The selection of wines was not extensive but wonderfully curated - lots of beautiful Italian varietals. The ambience was lovely - I sat outside and people watched as I dined alone. But what really stood out for me was the service. I was looked after so well by Otto who was such a lovely man and excellent at his job. What a great asset he is to Polpo. He surprised me towards the end of my lunch with a beautiful tirimasu with a lighting candle and quietly sang happy birthday to me (I had told him at the start that it was my 50th and I was celebrating it by spending a couple of days alone in London).”

  “The food here is always good and reliable - must orders are the crab linguine, Italian sausage pizette, and strawberry gelato. The food also always comes out super quickly. Service unfortunately can be a bit hit or miss sometimes as other reviews have mentioned. Lovely outdoor seating for the summertime. Reliable spot so I’ve been a few times and will continue to come back.”

  “A fabulous lunch, served impeccably by Ciro. The cicchetti was exactly what we’d hoped, as were the spritz and negroni beforehand. Would totally recommend to anyone — and worth making the journey for.”

  “You can really feel the care at this restaurant where you can try authentic Italian dishes. The food is beautiful - simple, fresh, and done properly! I suggest trying try polpo, the tomato salad that is full of flavour, the crostini, and the beef pasta! But what made it special was the team - Emanuel was very helpful and informative when bringing the dishes out. He made us feel easy and welcoming. Thank you so much for such a lovely service. And Francesco who just joined the team is also doing a great job. Huge thanks to the GM - your place is fantastic 🤌🤌🤌 Definitely be coming back 💯”

  “The beef shin rigatoni and sirloin tagliata were delicious! Blessing, our waitress was also very efficient and polite - thank you! A lovely spot in the middle of London for some lunch!”

  “I came to the Chelsea Flower Show and visited Polpo. Everything was absolutely delicious — the fish, as always, was outstanding, and the artichoke crostino was 10/10. Huge thanks to the chefs! Despite the huge number of visitors, the service was incredibly nice and professional. The team did an amazing job. Highly recommend!”

  “100/10. The food was amazing and staff were beyond attentive. I sat outside and the staff brought me blankets and put up heaters to make sure i was warm. I ordered the beef shin rigatoni and it was probably the best pasta dish I ever had. I’ll be thinking about it until I can come back for some more. Thank you for a great experience Ciro :)”

  “We visited POLPO on a busy Tuesday lunchtime. The restaurant is small and intimate, which is lovely but means that when it is full it’s quite a lot of noise and a little hard to hear. The restaurant offers a good variety of small plates. Some are much better value for money than others. The meat is not halal but there are so many vegetarian and seafood dishes you’re not missing out. Looking back we had a lot of fried dishes 😂 and would go back for a different variety. Highly recommend the mushroom pizza, potato & truffle croquettes and the zucchini fries! One of our party had the liver and said it was delicious. The only disappoint was the clam linguine, which was pretty bland. Service was really friendly and once the lunchtime rush was over the restaurant had a really nice atmosphere. We had two cocktails, two beers, 7 dishes and a tiramisu to finish. Total bill was £160 including service. £40 per head which is very good for Chelsea!”
