  “Expectations aren’t always particularly high when dining in a hotel, but this place is an absolute exception. We started with perfectly curated cocktails in the gorgeous lobby bar, served by the most attentive staff, before venturing into the restaurant. The interior is casual and relaxed, but don’t be fooled. Behind the kitchen is a chef who is 150% Italian and clearly knows exactly what he’s doing. The pasta is superb, and the chicken is cooked to perfection, with everything beautifully seasoned with fresh herbs. Simple ingredients, expertly handled, and absolutely delicious. There’s also an excellent wine list, refreshingly well-priced for a hotel restaurant. A special mention must go to our charming waiter from Sardinia, a true gentleman who made the experience even more enjoyable. The rest of the team were equally warm, attentive and welcoming. There’s some fantastic value to be found here, too, including unlimited bubbles and a three-course pizza menu. My advice? Don’t walk past the hotel — walk straight in! Enjoy a fabulous meal, exceptional food and genuinely lovely people who make you feel so welcome. A real gem and a wonderful surprise.”

  “Amazing experience having a Groupon brunch at Mercante restaurant. The food was delicious and fresh, but I’d specifically like to mention Paulo and Roberta for their outstanding customer service. They were very patient with all of us, kind, and displayed exceptional service. Thank you both for making my graduation brunch that bit better!”

  “Mercante has a lovely, cosy vibe, great ambience for a relaxed meal. The service, however, was a little slow, even though the place wasn’t very busy when we visited. There’s a good selection of cocktails, but the non-alcoholic drink options were quite limited. When it comes to food, the vegetarian choices were also selective. I really enjoyed the aubergine parmigiana. it was rich, comforting, and full of flavour. The bruschetta, however, was disappointing as the bread wasn’t toasted, and it lacked that fresh crunch you’d expect. Overall, it’s a pleasant spot for drinks or a quiet catch-up, but if you’re vegetarian or looking for alcohol-free options, you might find the choices a bit underwhelming.”

  “The food here was actually really good. The service was a little too “relaxed” for us. In spite of making sure that the staff knew we were on a tight schedule, while the staff was friendly, they took their sweet time and sometimes came off a bit rude. They did apologize multiple times but ultimately when we were moved to the main hall for coffee and pastries this continued and we had to send back half our tea order as it took 30+ minutes for them to bring it and we all had to leave. Was expecting better”

  “Loved this Italian restaurant, the linguine vongole was superb! Having lived 3 years in Rome, think to know how it should taste and it was on par. The decor of the restaurant is modern with Italian touches. Great place for lunch, ask for the lunch menu 2 course £15, 3 course £19 is very reasonable!”
