About Frescobaldi Ristorante London

Frescobaldi Ristorante London is an Italian restaurant and wine bar in Mayfair, down an alleyway off Regent Street at 15 New Burlington Pl. It belongs to the Tuscan Frescobaldi wine family, and the focus is wine-led, with cocktails alongside. On the food side, the kitchen works truffle into the Tagliolini al Tartufo Nero and a truffle pizza, and tiramisu is the dessert. In the evening, live music plays with performers moving around the room, so the venue suits a night out as well as a meal. Tables can be booked for occasions such as birthdays and date nights. The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary

Truffle dishes draw the most praise, with reviewers naming the black truffle pasta, the truffle spaghetti and a truffle pizza one diner calls the best dish of the meal. Close behind are the spaghetti vongole, scallops, bruschetta, olives with chiles, and a tiramisu one reviewer says lingers in the memory. Service is repeatedly described as attentive and knowledgeable, with recommendations called spot on. Diners describe the room as elegant and vibrant, and live music adds to the evening. The complaints are specific. One diner at a corner table says a wall blocked most of the live performance despite paying the same fee as others, and the waiter's reply that performers move around did not fix it. Another found some mains lacking depth of flavour and seasoning, and one calls the menu very limited. A visitor on a quiet night saw only about five tables filled and found the place hard to locate down an alleyway. One regular returns almost every weekend because a server remembers exactly what they like to order.

“One of my favourite places in London. Great food, lovely atmosphere, and consistently good service. Christina always makes me feel welcome and somehow remembers exactly what I like to order. That personal touch is one of the reasons I keep coming back almost every weekend. Highly recommended.”

“Tucked away just off Regent Street and moments from Savile Row, Ristorante Frescobaldi occupies one of Mayfair’s most enviable locations, offering a sophisticated Italian dining experience in the heart of the West End. Housed in an elegant setting that reflects the heritage of the renowned Tuscan wine dynasty behind it, the restaurant exudes charm, refinement and a sense of occasion from the moment guests arrive. Service throughout the evening was warm, attentive and genuinely engaging, striking the right balance between professionalism and hospitality. The lively atmosphere, enhanced by entertainment and the buzz of a well-heeled Mayfair crowd, makes Frescobaldi an appealing destination for both special occasions and leisurely evenings out. The menu offers an impressive breadth of Italian classics, with generous portions that provide excellent value for such a prestigious postcode. Standout dishes included the bruschetta, which arrived fresh and beautifully presented, and an indulgent tiramisu that delivered the comforting richness expected of a traditional Italian dessert. Where the experience fell slightly short was in the execution of some of the main dishes. While the ingredients appeared fresh and the presentation was polished, several plates lacked the depth of flavour and seasoning needed to elevate them from good to memorable. Given the restaurant’s reputation and pedigree, the food occasionally felt more restrained than inspiring. That said, Frescobaldi remains a highly enjoyable restaurant thanks to its elegant surroundings, impeccable service and vibrant atmosphere. It is a venue that excels as a social dining destination and wine-led experience, even if some dishes leave room for greater culinary impact. For those seeking a stylish Italian evening in Mayfair, it is still well worth a visit particularly for the ambience, hospitality and a tiramisu that lingers in the memory long after the meal has ended.”

“The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was really nice, at least from what we could see of it from our table :) The only downside was the seating for the live entertainment. We paid the same fee as everyone else, but our table was in a corner and a wall blocked most of our view of the performance. We mentioned it to the waiter and were told that the performers move around during the night, which they did. However, most of the show took place in one area, so we still couldn’t see much of it. It was disappointing to pay for the show and then miss a large part of it because of where we were seated.”

“A wonderful experience at Frescobaldi. The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic flavours and outstanding quality in every dish. The atmosphere was elegant, vibrant and welcoming from the very first moment. The entertainment and live music made the evening even more special, creating the perfect balance between fine dining and great atmosphere. A special thank you to Cristina and Eros for their incredible hospitality, kindness and attention to every detail. They truly made us feel at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable evening in London.”
