About Di Lieto
Di Lieto is an Italian restaurant and deli in London, at 2 S Island Pl. The deli stocks shelves of Italian groceries alongside a bakery, so it serves shoppers as well as people who want a meal. Pizza by the slice and homemade baked goods share the counter with pasta dishes, including pasta al forno. Coffee is on offer too, with oat cappuccino among the choices. A family runs the business, and the menu stays short. A seating area is available for those who want to eat in.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza leads the praise at this Italian deli, with reviewers singling out the pizza slices, one calling them the finest on this side of the river, while a pecan slice, homemade baked goods and an oat cappuccino follow close behind. Others mention proper clams and generous portions from a short, simple menu. Reviewers repeatedly describe honest, reasonable pricing, welcoming staff and a local, family run feel, with a crowded lunchtime and shelves overflowing with Italian groceries adding to the charm. Criticism is mostly minor. One reviewer notes the pasta isn't homemade, and another found the pasta al forno overcooked while blaming their own choice. The sharpest complaint comes from a late afternoon visitor who found no pasta or red wine available, a burnt pizza base and a rocket and burrata topping that tasted of nothing, and was offered only a tiny tart as an apology.

“Authentic Italian! I only popped in to use the bathroom and left with pizza and pecan slice but what fantastic food it was and cost very reasonable I think. Food quality five stars easily and service very friendly. A lot of places don’t let many people use the bathroom these days and fact that this place did that’s automatically high marks in my books just for service even before I purchased anything. I respect that and definitely they’ve earned a new customer in me. For both items cost me £4.30 and as I say that’s very very reasonable for all it’s worth especially considering the quality being that good.”

“I actually just got a coffee but want to share that my Oat Cappuccino was only £2.80! Best value coffee anywhere in London. If I had more time I would have sat in as the seating area looked lovely. The shop is crowded at lunchtime and shelves overflowing with Italian groceries but it adds to the charm. The smell of the bakery was so morish. Lots of people speaking Italian which helps with the idea the pizza slices would be good.”

“I’ve already been here three times this week for lunch. Thankfully, I don’t live or work nearby—otherwise, I’d probably be here every day! This place offers a taste of authentic Italian home cooking, reminiscent of the dishes our grandparents used to prepare. The flavors are rich and genuine, bringing back memories of traditional meals made with love and care. The staff is incredibly welcoming and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. If I had to point out a minor flaw, it’s that the pasta isn’t homemade. However, this doesn’t detract from the overall quality and passion evident in every dish. To top it all off, they offer a selection of truly delicious homemade baked goods—so tempting it’s hard to choose just one!”
