Customer Review Summary

Diners return most for the sharing menu served in stainless steel tiffins, built around Mother Butter Chicken and Mowgli House Lamb, with Mowgli Black Dahl, Fenugreek Kissed Fries and a closing scoop of vanilla ice cream close behind. Reviewers also praise the house slaw, the Yoghurt Chat Bombs and the coriander and garlic paratha, and one notes a gluten free menu. The decor and warm atmosphere come up often, and several describe friendly, attentive servers who talked them through the menu and reassured one diner about a peanut allergy. The criticism is specific. One reviewer found the Diwali cauliflower a half portion of boiled cauliflower with little seasoning and called the food bland overall. Another found the lamb chops a little dry, and one says staff can be slow to notice a table because of the layout. One reviewer calls the plates small for the price. Several celebrating birthdays and an anniversary mention the occasion being marked, including a surprise birthday brownie.

“Just had dinner here and wow, the food was incredible. Every dish had so much flavor and the portions were generous. You can tell they really care about quality. Service was quick and welcoming too. One of the best meals I’ve had in a while! Thank you so much Daisy and Imtiaz Khan for taking such great care of us during dinner! We really appreciated it. Hope to see you again soon!”

“This is second try of a Mowgli restaurant. Tried Maa’s Lamb Chops and Corriander and Garlic Paratha. Taste was very good, although the lamb was a little drier than expected. The Paratha was excellent. The service was hood but the layout of the restaurant means that staff may take a while to notice you need attention. The decor is great, the only question is where are the customers. This is really good food, come and try it.”

“Most lovely food. I walk past it in Leeds all the time and was excited there was one in London to celebrate my birthday in. Lovely food and drinks. Greats service. So helpful if needed. Really reassuring with my peanut allergy. Immy and all staff working were just wonderful. Would absolutely come back again.”

“4★ - Beautiful + delicious The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, like stepping into a dream. The waiters were all amazing, especially the one who talked us through the menu, everyone was so attentive. The meal was absolutely delicious and we can’t wait to come back. Booking was really easy too, and the girl on the phone wished us a happy anniversary, which was a lovely touch. Cons: The pricing is on the high side and the plates are quite small for the cost. We were also a bit disappointed there were no small gestures for our 26th wedding anniversary to make it feel extra special. Overall it was really good.”

“Food was very good. Each dish lived up to its hype. Despite been a solid carnivore, my favorite dishes were the house slaw and the black daal. Our server Daisy was amazing. She had great knowledge of all the dishes. She was attentive without been pushy. Always there with a great smile. A credit to your company”

Highlights

“Mowgli is all about how Indians eat at home and on their streets. She was born to feed the raw need Indians have for tiffins full of fresh bright intense flavour. Mowgli is not about the intimate, hushed dining experience. It is about the smash and grab zing of healthy, light, virtuosic herbs and spices.”
