About Brigadiers
Brigadiers is an Indian barbecue restaurant and sports bar at 1-5 Bloomberg Arcade in the City of London, themed on the army mess halls of India. Live sport plays on screens throughout the room, and self-serve beer taps sit alongside a whisky list, on-tap drinks and a cocktail menu. The kitchen cooks with tandoor roasting, classic Indian smokers and charcoal grilling, and the plates are built for sharing. The modern Indian menu takes a London twist, with Butter Chicken Wings, lamb chops and Dal Makhani among the dishes. Private rooms and group dining are available for larger parties. A sports feast package gives guests the option to upgrade to two hours of free-flowing Cobra and cocktails.

Customer Review Summary
Lamb chops come up most, praised as excellent and a highlight of the meal, with a biryani finished with marrow also singled out. Close behind are the butter chicken wings, described as rich yet smooth, along with goat shoulder, the mixed grill, lamb skewers, kebabs and a large naan that diners say anchors the meal. Reviewers describe food full of flavour and table service as warm and attentive, and birthday groups mention the bar and the lovely vibe. Complaints are about details. One diner found the dal makhani lacking flavour, though another enjoyed it, and a third felt the curry sauce tasted of tomato purée. Others disliked tables packed close together despite plenty of room, a limited cocktail menu, and a disengaged welcome at reception. One party asked for the grills before the mains, yet every dish arrived together. Another saw staff politely ask a loud nearby group to quieten down, only for the noise to return.

“The dining area towards the back is a little quieter if you prefer. Briyani with the decadent marrow is a must and who can say to no amazing lamb chops. Awesome meal.”

“I recently visited Brigadiers in London and had a fantastic dining experience overall. The food was genuinely impressive, and it is easy to understand why this restaurant is so highly regarded. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Butter Chicken Wings, Lamb Skewers Afghani Tikka, Bun Kebabs, goat shoulder, a naan basket, and laccha paratha. The highlight of the meal for us was definitely the barbecue selection. Every grilled item was packed with flavour, the meat was exceptionally tender, and each dish tasted like it had been prepared with great care. The Butter Chicken Wings and the various kebabs were particularly memorable. The breads complemented the meal very well, and overall we left feeling extremely satisfied with the quality of the food and the experience. The service was attentive and professional throughout our visit. One issue we encountered was a particularly loud group seated nearby. To the restaurant's credit, the staff did approach them and politely ask them to lower the noise levels, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, after some time the group became loud again, and we felt that a further reminder would have helped maintain a more comfortable atmosphere for the other diners. Another area where we feel there is room for improvement is the curry. While we enjoyed the curry overall, we felt that the sauce had a noticeable tomato purée taste, and a more balanced depth of flavour would make it even better. Despite these minor points, our overall experience was excellent. The barbecue dishes were outstanding, the service was good, and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We will definitely be returning and look forward to visiting again.”

“Brigadiers was recommend to us, and I can see why. This place is on another level. Nothing is boring or expected. The menu is modern Indian with twists all over. The knowledge of the front of house team is amazing. The food is out of this world. Flavours and textures that delight. I would go back and back and back. It's not cheap here. You are paying for the experience and expertise of the chefs and team. Worth every penny. Super highly recommend.”

“The food was decent overall. We tried the lamb chops, which were excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal. However, despite our request to have the grills served before the main course, all the dishes arrived at the same time, which affected the dining experience. The dal makhni was disappointing and lacked the flavor we expected. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but not one that would make us eager to return. On a positive note, our server, Shaira, was warm, attentive, and took great care of us throughout the meal. Her service was much appreciated.”

“We had a fantastic time here. This is my 4th time and it never disappoints. We had the goat shoulder, chicken tikka masala, aloo chat, vindaloo simosas and dal and everything was excellent. Service was really warm and attentive. Our big thanks to Advaith for really looking after us, he’s the best!”
