About Anokha London
Anokha London is an Indian restaurant at 2 Creechurch Ln in London, housed in a historic former tea warehouse near Aldgate with exposed brickwork and a subterranean space. A tiled floor and Mughal motifs sit alongside the brick. The kitchen gives Indian cooking a modern edge, with Anokha Chicken among the mains and a mixed grill on the menu. Curries are ordered with naan and rice on the side, and starters include duck and lamb dishes. The team explains the menu, recommends dishes and suggests wine pairings for the table. Dessert includes pistachio Indian ice cream, with mango as the other flavour.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the chicken, with the Anokha Chicken, the signature chicken and the tandoori chicken described as tender, well cooked and full of flavour. Close behind are the lamb shank, the mixed grill, prawns, and duck and lamb starters, alongside garlic naan, pilau rice and crispy samosas. Pistachio and mango Indian ice cream and a pistachio cheesecake come up repeatedly as a good finish. Service is praised as friendly and attentive, with servers who explained the menu and suggested wine pairings for diners new to Indian food. The setting is called warm, stylish and relaxed, with a few mentioning a romantic or business dinner. Portions are a recurring point: one reviewer thought them small at first glance but could not finish two starters, two mains and two desserts, and another had leftovers packed up to take home.

“Some restaurants shout for your attention; Anokha doesn't need to. It lets the food tell the story. The tandoori chicken arrived kissed by the fire—beautifully charred on the outside, tender within, carrying that unmistakable smoky warmth that lingers long after the last bite. Each sauce was a world of its own, layered with spice, richness, and depth, inviting you to savour rather than rush. The quiet, understated atmosphere wrapped the evening in a sense of calm, making conversation feel effortless. It's the kind of place where time slows down, where the glow of the table matters more than the buzz of the room. For anyone searching for a memorable meal in London or the perfect setting for a date, Anokha offers both with quiet confidence. Thank you Abul (I hope I'm spelling the name correctly) for your amazing service!”

“Had a lovely dinner with my friend last week. I was a little early but the hosts made me feel so welcome and had a chat with me at the table. The decor is really warm and cosy. Would be great for a romantic dinner. The food was delicious, at first glance the portions seem small but we had two starters, two mains and two deserts and we couldn’t finish it! We were so full. It was a lovely weeknight treat. I think would be great for bdays and office parties in the city. The host helped us take pictures together at the end 😂😂”

“The perfect place for for business dinners, date nights, or special group gatherings. Tucked away in a historic 170-year-old tea warehouse near Aldgate, Anokha is an absolute gem for anyone craving elevated Indian cuisine in Central London. The moody, subterranean space with its exposed brickwork creates a warm and intimate setting that immediately sets the tone for a fantastic meal. Combined with remarkably attentive and welcoming service, it’s a spot that turns a simple dinner into a memorable dining experience.”

“Had a wonderful lunch here. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The Anokha Chicken was definitely the highlight—perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with amazing flavor. The lamb shank was incredibly tender, the curries were rich and aromatic, and the naan was freshly baked and delicious. We also really enjoyed the crispy samosas. The restaurant has a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere, making it a great spot for lunch. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient without feeling rushed. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I’d happily come back again. Highly recommend!”

“Fantastic Indian food and excellent service at Anokha! I recently visited Anokha Indian Restaurant and had a wonderful lunch thanks to the outstanding service and delicious food. Our waiter, Sam, was incredibly friendly and helpful from the start. He made us feel welcome and confidently suggested trying any dish from the menu, which gave me the confidence to order something new. I went with the Hash Maduri and the Chicken Korai, served with Garlic Naan and Pilau Rice. Every dish was absolutely amazing — packed with rich, authentic flavours, perfectly spiced, and cooked beautifully. The portions were generous, and the combination worked so well together. The Garlic Naan was soft and fragrant, and the Pilau Rice was flavourful and light. The service throughout was excellent — attentive, warm, and professional. Sam really enhanced our experience and made us feel taken care of. We’ll definitely be going back soon to try more dishes from the menu. If you’re looking for great Indian cuisine with top-notch hospitality, Anokha is highly recommended!”
