Customer Review Summary
Banana bread toasted with espresso butter is the dish reviewers return to most, described as thick, not overly sweet and delicious, and one reviewer notes it is vegan. Close behind are the coffees. Diners praise the rotating filter menu, a Peruvian pour over with blueberry, green apple and milk chocolate notes, a strong flat white that converted one visitor to oat milk, and a blood orange tonic cold shot. One reviewer likes the card that comes with each order describing the coffee. Brunch plates also draw praise, including corn and polenta pancakes with roasted tomatoes and mushrooms, pancakes with bacon, and poached eggs on toast. The main complaint concerns seating. One reviewer says the basement level felt too much like a basement, with low-lit booths better suited to a bar, and notes that upstairs seats can be hard to get. Several reviewers mention staff who answered coffee questions and let them try a few filter coffees and beans.

“We had an amazing time with my friend at the Watch House! What really made the atmosphere welcoming was the personal touch by Anna and Eddie who answered all of our coffee questions and gave us even to try few of the filter coffees. Anna’s passion, coupled with extensive knowledge for coffee, definitely sold the place for us. Rarely you can discuss coffee with people but also explain the way you feel when you try the different techniques and methods and the variety of beans. Would recommend to everybody- they know what they are doing !”

“Great coffee place. The strong Black coffee was absolutely delicate. The croissant, too. There were many amazing breakfast sandwiches on the menu... I have to say I am not used to see the calories next to the prices... and that's why I went for just the croissant 🥐 Aaaah I came back didn't I... the best dish are the pancakes with bacon ❤️ just divine ...you made my 4 days stay in London incredibly 😊 wholesome. Had 3 amazing coffee x breakfast times because of you + thanks to the team for the lovely service! Everyone super friendly”

“Had a great experience today! Shoutout to the amazing team - Silvia, Vi, Eddie, Niamh, Koko, Lija, and Christian!! Today I received a warm welcome by the team, and had fantastic dine-in service from them overall!! ;) The drinks and food I had today: Latte art and coffee taste, beautiful ;) Apple porridge, delicious :D Mushrooms and tomatoes, seasoned to perfection :))) Banana bread (oh yes, vegan!), toasted with espresso butter, highly recommend!! :> If it's your first time at WatchHouse Covent Garden, they offer a wide selection of brunch mains + sides, pastries, coffees, pour overs, matcha, juices, coffee beans + pods, and more!! WatchHouse is a specialty coffee brand that specializes in their Modern Coffee experience - tasty pour overs and batch brew coffees, and their warm and friendly hospitality + excellent service!! ;) Moreover, this branch has a bar seating area along with large windows for a good view of the streets! On top of that, there is a cozy downstairs seating area as well that is great for family + friend gatherings, and cute cubby booths too! In terms of family friendliness, they offer baby chairs and there is a baby changing station in the toilet!! And would also like to mention that they're dog friendly too!! :D”

“Wow. What a breakfast. I started with banana bread, with espresso butter. The banana bread was thick and not overly sweet, and the combination with the espresso butter who was surprising and delicious. After that I had corn and polenta pancakes. As you can see by the photo, the presentation was off the charts. And the taste was a flavor bomb. Crunchy on the outside, the roasted tomatoes, mushrooms. Corn, avocado and salsa combo was stellar. I also, because they were out of cold brew, ordered their cold shot of the day, which was coffee and blood orange tonic. Both flavors were omnipresent, and would sounded like an odd combination to me is actually extremely delicious. Props to WatchHouse server Silvia. She was delightful and charming.”
