About GŎNG

GŎNG is a cocktail bar in London on Level 52, set in the highest hotel bar in Western Europe, with skyline views to the west, north and east. Glass walls run throughout the space, and seats at the bar face the view. The drinks list is large, with cocktails including a spicy margarita and champagne by the bottle. Sushi is on the menu alongside the drinks, and a premium view seat booking pairs a bottle of champagne with sushi. Reservations are required, and each stay has a time limit of one and a half hours. When the bar is full, guests wait at a temporary table in the center until a table with a view opens. Valet parking is on offer for guests who drive.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers come above all for the skyline view, which most call the highlight, and many pair it with cocktails and champagne. Several praise the drinks as lovely and fresh, and one enjoyed the red wine at the bar. Sushi gets a mixed response: one calls it quite delicious, while others find it good but not the best, decent but nothing extraordinary, or let down by awful soy sauce. Service is largely warmly described, with servers and a bartender called friendly and attentive, and one diner's champagne glass never ran dry. Pricing is the recurring caveat. Several call drinks a bit pricy or overpriced, and one says a bottle of champagne and sushi for three plus a cocktail did not justify the cost. The harshest review describes warm margaritas sent back twice, replacements at room temperature, and a long wait to catch a waiter's eye on a quiet night. Another notes that when busy, guests wait at a temporary table in the center until a view table frees up. One reviewer closes by saying they come back every time they are in London.

“Popped in on our last day of our London adventure and got to sit at the bar and enjoy the view. Drinks were a bit pricy, but I really enjoyed my cocktail and the red wine was lovely! Jonathan behind the bar was also very kind, being very friendly and welcoming!”

“Beautiful view and a large selection of drinks. Service is excellent. However when busy you will need to wait at a temporary table in the center until a table with a view is available.”

“We had such a great experience at GŎNG. The cocktails were absolutely amazing — beautifully presented, tasted incredible, and the whole atmosphere and views made it even more special. A massive thank you to Jon, who looked after us throughout our visit. He was genuinely one of the nicest and most attentive waiters we’ve had. He made us feel really welcome, was friendly and professional, and went out of his way to make sure we were having a great time. It was my 30th birthday as well, and Jon’s service really helped make the evening feel special and memorable. Amazing cocktails, incredible views and outstanding service. We’ll definitely be coming back. Thank you again, Jon!🙌🥂”

“Disappointing birthday experience - paying for the view, not the quality. I booked TĪNG/GÖNG to celebrate my friend’s birthday. We were completely fine with the £30 per person minimum spend, provided the food and drinks reflected that value. Unfortunately, spending approximately £50 on two drinks that were virtually undrinkable was incredibly disappointing. I initially ordered a custom spicy margarita, explaining exactly how I wanted it made (sweet and spicy with chili, not cardamom and clove). The waiter confidently insisted he knew exactly what I meant rather than checking with the bartender, and suggested a mango margarita instead. When it arrived, the drink was actually warm, despite having a large ice cube in it. It was easily the worst cocktail I’ve ever been served, and we had to send them back. A second waiter kindly offered to have the bartender fix them, but the replacements were just as bad. We ultimately switched to standard spicy margaritas, but even those arrived at room temperature. To make matters worse, the service was incredibly inattentive. Despite the bar being quiet, it took 15–20 minutes just to catch a waiter's eye. The lack of basic hospitality completely ruined what was supposed to be a special celebration. We actually had a dinner reservation booked as well, but after this experience, we politely declined to stay for food. We ended up going to Plants of Roselyn on Tooley Street instead, where we had three fantastic cocktails that were three times cheaper and paired with a brilliant experience. It felt like TĪNG/GÖNG is solely relying on the Shard's view rather than providing the luxury standard they charge for. Management seriously needs to train staff to actively listen to customers rather than pretending to know what they want.”

“Every time in London we come here. Best viewing spot to see London’s landscape. Didn’t try any food as we came for the fancy cocktails and they hit the spot. Very crafty and artistic. Drinks are priced for the atmosphere. All the walls are glass even the restroom 🥹. We had a great time. I say check it out.”
