About Honest Burgers Bank

Honest Burgers Bank is a hamburger restaurant in London at 4 off Change Alley, and its menu prints how many miles away the meat, chips and beer suppliers are, so diners can see how far each one travels. The kitchen makes British beef burgers and fried chicken burgers, with smash burgers and sliders also on the menu. Rosemary chips come alongside, and BBQ wings are offered, including a BBQ Sriracha option. Vegan, vegetarian and halal options are listed too, with the halal choice limited to chicken. Inside, seating is bench and bar style, with bar stools and high seats. The ground floor is called upstairs, and a downstairs area can be closed off.

Customer Review Summary

Burgers are what most reviewers come for: the smash burger is praised for a smoky flavour and stayed warm on the walk back to the office, the tribute is called juicy at medium well, and the chicken is described as succulent. Close behind are the rosemary chips, called the best one diner has had when eating out, and the BBQ Siracha wings, which another reviewer also praises. Friendly staff come up repeatedly. The complaints centre on execution and this small branch. Seating is mostly backless bar stools, and one reviewer was told downstairs was closed. Others found a chicken burger dry with little sauce, a burger with no beef taste, and fries that were salty and cold. One reviewer who suggests trying another branch asked for no cheese and got melted cheese on the burger, then waited to catch the attention of the one staff member who was cooking and serving.

“First of all, I would like to say that I am a big fan of honest burger and they are my go to burger place anywhere in London. Unfortunately I was let down on this visit. This location is pretty small, with around 5 tables outside and only bench/ bar style seating inside. it was pretty cold outside on the day, so we sat inside. The sets are bar stools with no back on them, so it's pretty hard to relax and enjoy the meal. I was served by a lady and specifically asked for my burger with no cheese.... and it came with cheese on the burger. I don't like food to be wasted, so I spent 5 minutes picking the melted cheese from the burger and bun. The burger was also more rare than medium rare. The fries were plentyful and cooked perfectly . There were only two staff there when we arrived- one cooking and another taking orders. After we had finished the meal and rested a while, we were ready to leave. By this time the lady had gone somewhere, leaving the gentleman to greet, take orders, cook and serve the food. it took around 10 minutes to get the guys attention as he was running around trying to do his job - even though the place was no where near capacity - with around 5 separate parties of guests. Once we did grab his attention, he did try to take payment as quickly as he could, between serving food to others. I will definitely still eat at this chain, but maybe not at this particular branch in future. I would recommend findimg another branch in the area.”

“Truly delicious food, as always from honest burger, great vibe and very friendly and attentive staff. I do recommend the new sliders on the menu, great portion size and good for tasting different burgers. Was very impressed with the quality of the meat, especially the chicken which was very succulent. Thank you for making our visit to bank fantastic!”
