Quick info
About The Swimmer at the Grafton Arms
On Eburne Rd in London, The Swimmer at the Grafton Arms is a pub where orders are placed at the bar. Burgers come two for one on Monday evenings, which suits two people ordering together. The kitchen also serves small plates and fish and chips, and Sunday brings a roast with lamb and beef. The drinks list covers cask beers alongside other beers, ciders and whisky. During the week the pub opens in the evening, so weekday visits are after work rather than at lunch. A private dining room is available for groups. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints are specific. One diner found the burger underwhelming, with a soggy lettuce leaf, a few gherkin slices and a smear of coleslaw, and says the burgers used to be bigger and came with sauce. Another found the mushrooms with cheese had almost no mushrooms. A long-time regular describes being turned away at the door after the Champions League final, saying the security were over zealous even though the group had spent money earlier that day. Several praise the Monday two-for-one burger deal, and one family called the roast lunch a fair price for their table of eight.

“Lovely, traditional London pub with great staff and a great atmosphere. I called the day before to ask to reserve a table outside for our family of 8 and the lady was really accommodating. We all ordered a roast lunch and it was up there with the best pub roast dinners we’ve had- huge portions, generous meat and really fair price! We’ll definitely be back, thanks for a lovely afternoon, The Swimmer at Grafton.”

“Decent boozer. Good beer and generally nice staff, especially the young man. But let down by the burger. The menu says served with salad and homemade coleslaw. This amounts to a soggy leaf of baby gem, a couple of tiny gherkin slices and a smear of coleslaw on the burger! No sauce, cheese or anything. Coleslaw should be served on the side. Skin on fries were decent. But not worth £16. Edit. We will come back (you're a decent pub) but not for the burgers. They used to be much bigger, way better and have burger sauce - nothing to do with my "taste". The positive reviews are for your Monday deal. Who puts coleslaw on a burger anyway!?”

“I have been coming to this pub since 1987 and have just been subjected to the most humiliating experience at the hands of their security. My son and I along with 7 of our friends went to the pub at around 1:30, prior to the Champions league final. We were in there for around 2 hours and bought quite a few drinks. 4 of us went back to the pub after watching the match and their Security let me in with no question and my son in on seeing his arsenal season ticket but would not let his 2 friends in. The pub was half empty, we were in no way drunk or in any way rowdy but we were forced as they wouldn’t let our 2 friends in. I have to say that I find this unbelievable as we had spent money with them that day, been polite and courteous and I have been going there for years and years. The staff are lovely but the security are over zealous and obnoxious. We bought 6 new people to your pub that live in North London and had never been there before - they would have come again but given the inhospitable welcome i don’t think they’ll try again! You. Were happy to take our money earlier in the day but wouldn’t let us back in for absolutely no justifiable reason. Absolutely shocking and awful treatment!!! Beware!!!”

“Discovered by accident after originally trying another pub locally that wasn’t serving food - and so happy we came across this one! Lovely pub with really nice staff. Ordered the fish and chips and it was huge, really fresh and tasty. Good selection of beers and lovely outdoor drinking area. Will definitely come back!”
