Customer Review Summary
Gunners Lager is the drink reviewers name most, described as crisp, smooth and perfectly cold, with a few also calling the Guinness the best in North London. Close behind is the Arsenal identity: shirts and memorabilia everywhere, a newly refurbished bar with a red wall, and big screens for the football. Several describe matchdays as electric, full of songs and chants, a short walk from the Emirates. A couple of visitors came on quiet afternoons and evenings and could only imagine it bouncing on a match day. The staff and owners come up repeatedly as friendly and welcoming, and one student reviewer calls the beer affordable and the service fast. The one recurring reservation is about what has changed. One reviewer found no food available during their visit, with a pizza company delivering to the pub instead, and felt it is not the community local it once was. Another says the staff treated their dog like royalty.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hands down the Closest Iconic pub to Emirates Stadium. You step off the chaos of Holloway Road and within one minute you’re on Eden Grove straight into proper Arsenal territory. I saw it all over social media and it actually overdelivers. This isn’t just a pub, it’s basically an Arsenal museum. Shirts, legends, history everywhere you look. Strong identity, real community, zero nonsense. Matchdays are electric, Gunners Lager flowing, best Guinness in North London no debate. If you can find Emirates, you can find The George. North London is red and this place proves it.”

“A wonderful place for a pint of Gunners Lager as well of lots of great Arsenal memorabilia. It was a Monday afternoon and ive just done the legends tour so quiet but id imagine its bouncing on matchdays. Very friendly staff and a great pint.”

“whether it’s for an after class pint or a celebration, the george never disappoints and i always leave with a smile on my face. the beer is great and affordable especially if you’re a student, the staff are great people who are very kind and sweet. the service is fast and they’re pet friendly. make sure to pay a visit when you’re in islington! on a personal note, even though i’m not an arsenal fan —or maybe i became one after visiting here often— i made some unforgettable memories here which made my time in london even more valuable. thank you, the george!!!”
