About Pergola on the Wharf

Pergola on the Wharf is a bar in London on Crossrail Place, set on top of the Canary Wharf Elizabeth Line station. Guests walk through a roof garden to reach the venue, where ferns, vines and floor-to-ceiling windows fill a spacious interior with plants and natural light. The space holds two bars and a dancefloor, with DJ sets and live music for those who come to dance. A terrace wraps around the building with room for 200 people and looks over the docks. The drinks list includes an elderflower margarita and espresso martinis, and a bottomless brunch runs alongside an express lunch. The venue also hosts events of any size. Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often single out the service at the bar and tables, with one server described as friendly and attentive, a bartender praised for a spicy-sweet margarita and an elderflower margarita, and another reviewer pointing to a bottomless brunch served attentively. Close behind is the setting: a spacious, floral room with greenery, natural light and dock views from the balcony, which reviewers say suits lunch as well as a lively night with a DJ, dancefloor and photo booth. Drinks draw praise too, including espresso martinis and Limoncello shots, and lunch specials with salmon arrive quickly and in generous portions. The main caveat is the food. One diner found the steak sauce a little salty and sent back a salty Korean chicken starter, and another called the brunch food just ok. Cocktails are described as a bit pricey for Canary Wharf, and one reviewer notes ID is checked at the entrance. Several reviews close on a birthday table by the water, where a DJ played a requested song.

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely incredible service — Ben Chan deserves a special mention! Honestly, Ben Chan was the best waiter I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by. From the moment we arrived, he was friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely made us feel so welcome. He went above and beyond in every possible way and somehow managed to make the whole experience feel effortless. You can tell Ben genuinely cares about giving people a great experience. He was incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing, had the perfect sense of humour, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. The service was 10/10, and Ben was an absolute star. People like him are what make you want to come back again and again. If Pergola has more staff like Ben, they’re doing something very right! Ben, you were an absolute legend — thank you for making our visit so memorable! You deserve all the recognition in the world. 🌟 Would 100% come back, and I really hope we get Ben again next time!”

“What can I say! What a night! Last night, I celebrated my birthday here. What an exceptional place from beginning to end. My table was gorgeous overlooking the water, the staff were so attentive to us, they gave us lots of glasses and the bottle of magnum wine and prosecco we pre ordered and then we ordered lots more. We ordered food that was super delicious and my sisters ordered cocktails which were so nice. We had Limoncello shots all night which were incredible! The photo booth was great and the DJ even played a song I requested! It was such a fun night! Big shout out to the security guards they made me and my friends laugh and a big shout out to William who checked in on me to see if I was ok. I love this venue! It topped last years party by miles! I even got my own rainbow! Kudos to the managers and all the staff at Pergola, you are doing an amazing job! I hope to be back soon with family and friends to try your roast. :)”

“Had a great experience at this cocktail bar, thanks to Blaiza! He made me the perfect margarita with just the right balance of spicy and sweet, and also introduced me to an elderflower margarita, which was a new concept for me and absolutely delicious. Blaiza’s customer service was excellent. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, taking the time to recommend drinks and make sure everything was spot on. His positive attitude and genuine warmth really added to the experience. I’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend stopping by!”

“Came for the bottomless brunch. Served by Reuben who was extremely attentive! Fantastic service by him. Food was ok. Drinks didn’t take too long to arrive and entertainment was fun!”

“I had spent the morning exploring Canary Wharf, getting slightly lost, enjoying the CrossrailRoof Garden and then it was lunchtime. There wasn’t any info that I could see other than the sign on the door, but a quick google told me that they served express lunches so I went in. The interior is stunning- beautifully decorated with a floral theme and very spacious. There was seating on the balcony but I chose to sit inside. The menu was extensive but I finally settled on salmon with a pink grapefruit and soda to drink. The food was fantastic-probably the best salmon I have ever eaten and very generous portions. I would have loved a dessert but I was just too full! £12.50 plus small service charge was an amazing price to pay. Highly recommended!”

Good to know

“Pergola On The Wharf is a botanical waterside Eden, grown for naturally good times. Flooded with natural light from the floor-to-ceiling windows and strewn with lush flora, vines and ferns, the huge space will play host to two bars, drinking, dancing, live music and DJ sets late into the night. Perched above Canary Wharf’s northern dock with panoramic views, feel free to live it up inside amongst the foliage or enjoy the fresh air on our 200 capacity terrace which wraps around the venue. Perfect for events of any size.”
