Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return most for the Thai food, with the pad Thai drawing the most praise, described as full of plump prawns and "so good." The lamb massaman curry, red curry sirloin and duck curry with the starter for one also earn mentions, and one diner went back for extra prawn toast. Close behind are the draft beers, including the house beer, and the spacious interior and front terrace. Several call it a good place to watch football and the Six Nations, with plenty of screens and a local crowd. Service is described as quick and friendly, and one reviewer says a staff member remembered their drink order and kept chilled glasses ready during a heat wave. The criticism is specific. One regular says the bar manager shrugged off a poorly poured Guinness, and they got a short measure four more times. Another found the starters like microwaved frozen food, with smaller portions and some forced service. One reviewer says the kitchen hours differ on weekdays, so they suggest calling ahead.

“I really loved the energy and the vibes. They remembered my drink order without asking and made sure we were well looked after. A special shout out to Jessica who was an absolute diamond. In the middle of a heat wave she made sure that we were well looked after and well hydrated, she saw us buying pints and made sure that we had chilled glasses in the fridge for our next round. I honestly could not recommend her enough”

“Even though this little Gem is situated on the dusty road of Mile End you wouldn't think it once entering the threshold. The front garden is a sun trap! Service is nice and easy too. The option to barcode or go to the end of the bar. Once you order a drink your drinks tray/board is actually the menu! The food was quick and we didnt wait long at all... everything felt fresh and handmade. I went with a duck curry and the starter for one. My partner ordered extra prawn toast once he tasted it on my starters! The price is extremely reasonable. Portion size, well, I could of took home a Doggy bag... Will definitely return again, as there a many more items I want to try on the menu.”

“Nice IPA (SALT Jute) but compare to Rustic Bike in Chingford the quality of food and atmosphere nowhere near. Food lacking a flavour, smaller portions and starters like shop bought frozen food made in microwave. Extra star for staff charging my phone but in terms of service.. from some members it seems very forced.”

“This pub is lovely - relaxed vibe, friendly staff, great screens and seats for the football with a fun beer garden out front. And the thai food was yummy. Perfect”

“Sunday experience at the Rusty Bike. Nice and spacious pub, with a front terrace, if you want to enjoy a cold beer in the sun 🌞. We had their house beer and it was refreshing. On Sunday the kitchen is open all day and it serves outstanding Thai food. Also they do Japanese food. Not to mention that the service is fast and the food very tasty. During the week the kitchen has a different schedule, so if you plan to go there for food make sure you call them to find out the time when they serve food.”
