About Crown & Pepper Farringdon
Crown & Pepper Farringdon is a gastropub in London at Unit 5 Cowcross Yards, serving an Indian and Indo-Chinese menu. The kitchen turns out chicken lollipops, Manchurian cauliflower and salt and pepper king prawn as part of that range. The long bar carries a cocktail board and craft beers. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the Indo-Chinese and Indian food, with the salt and pepper king prawn named as one reviewer's personal favourite. Close behind, diners single out the Singapore noodles, lamb chops, squid, chicken lollipops and Manchurian cauliflower as full of flavour, and one vegetarian diner was pleasantly surprised to find Indian-style options in a pub. Several mention friendly, quick service and a welcoming host who explained the menu and made recommendations. The sports screens and lively game-day atmosphere come up repeatedly, along with cheap drinks in the afternoon happy hour, cocktails and outdoor seating. One reviewer found the butter chicken sweet like a korma yet seriously spicy, and called the Chinese dishes super salty and spicy, rating the Indian choices as probably better. The same reviewer noted that staff have to enter the wifi password for customers.

“Crown & Pepper in Farringdon is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The food was outstanding — the perfect combination of delicious Indian and Indo-Chinese flavours, beautifully prepared and full of flavour. The quality of the food really stood out, and every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. The staff were equally amazing — so friendly, welcoming, attentive and genuinely lovely. The service made the whole experience even more special. I honestly loved everything about this place — the food, the quality, the atmosphere and, most importantly, the people. It’s not often you leave a restaurant feeling impressed by every single aspect, but Crown & Pepper definitely did that for us. Highly recommended! ❤️ If you love Indian and Indo-Chinese food, you absolutely have to try this place. We will definitely be coming back! 👏🌟”

“I had a fantastic evening at Crown & Pepper during my visit to London. A good friend invited me to join him for dinner while we watched a big football match at the pub. Although I’m not a football fan myself, it turned out to be a memorable experience as his favourite team won and reached the final. The excitement and celebrations created an incredible atmosphere that made the evening even more special. What impressed me most was the food. I was pleasantly surprised to find such delicious Indian-style vegetarian options in a pub. The snacks and meal were full of flavour and exceeded my expectations. Combined with the lively ambience, friendly service, and the joy of celebrating a historic sporting moment with friends, it made for a truly unforgettable evening. I’d happily return for the great food, the vibrant atmosphere, and another game-day experience. Highly recommended!”

“I saw good reviews and booked a table here to meet a few desi (Pakistani and Indian) friends and I have to say, the Indo-Chinese food was delightful! It is hard to like Indo-Chinese or Indian food in most places in London if you're from the subcontinent, and I usually just (outwardly) appreciate the food at a place to be nice to people who invited me. But this place has made me want to go out of my way and review the excellent food.”

“Stayed in an Airbnb above Crown & Pepper and ended up coming back more than once. Great Indian food, fast and friendly service, and excellent happy hour deals. The atmosphere feels a bit like an American sports bar, making it a fun place to watch World Cup soccer and cricket. The outdoor seating is a bonus, and despite being in the heart of London, this location has a charming village feel. Definitely worth a visit!”
