Customer Review Summary
Long-standing regulars return for the chicken ginger and spring onion, which reviewers call a personal favourite and recommend by name, with the satay sauce and the curry sauce also getting praise. Fish and chips, chicken curry and rice, and sausage and chips draw words like excellent, and several mention large portions that stretch to leftovers, plus friendly staff and good local delivery. The complaints are substantial, though. Several longtime customers say standards have slipped: greasy, tasteless egg fried rice and Singapore vermicelli, chips that tasted of stale fat, curry sauce so solid it needed a spoon, chow mein with little chicken, and fried rice with ham in it. Others report salty fish and fish cake, inedible mushy peas, and crispy chilli beef that was not nice. One reviewer says orders get defaulted to large and items forgotten, and another notes it is cash only. One says everyone queues together, so takeaway food sits warm while waiting. A few wonder whether the shop changed hands.

“Always came here and got the same thing for years which was chicken curry. Thought I would try something new and got crispy chilli beef but sadly wasn’t nice. Curry sauce is really nice though”

“Really disappointing with tonights chicken chow mein. Very little chicken in it and they have now taken the tasty pieces of ham out of it. Been going there for 30 plus years. Might now try elsewhere.”
- Elliot Atkins
“Hit and miss in my experience. The chips and Chinese dishes are generally fine but the mushy peas were inedible bullets last time I visited.”

“Lovely staff and food but this is not a takeaway service. All customers have to queue for food as there is no separate takeaway service ,so for me ,with a health condition useless. Food is warm and standing for as long as the number of walk in customers standing in front of you. Lunacy . Not a takeaway. Just a walk in. Warm food a risk...”
