About Jade Garden
Jade Garden is a fish and chips takeaway at 146 Hartsbourne Ave in Liverpool that runs a second menu beside the usual chippy fare. Customers can pair fish and chips with dishes like salt and pepper king prawn or Singapore vermicelli, so one order can cover different tastes. Salt and pepper also appears on the chicken, the wings and the chips. Curry is served with chips for those who want a classic chip shop meal. The shop is open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
Salt and pepper dishes draw the most praise, with reviewers naming the salt and pepper chicken, the king prawn, the wings and the chips. Close behind are the sweet and sour chicken, called plump and moist, golden, crispy chips that are fluffy inside, and the curry and chips, along with decent portions. Several describe friendly service, a lovely owner and quick, piping hot delivery. The criticism is substantial, though, and chips are the most frequent target. One reviewer found them greasy and binned them, another says they tasted cooked several times, and a third found them very dry after sitting since dinner time. Others describe the Singapore vermicelli as lacking chicken and prawns, with only a little ham and char siu, the hot and sour soup as very sweet with little veg or meat, and the curry as bland and watery. One reviewer calls the staff rude. One reviewer reports a steak pie that smelled off and tasted bad, and says that when they rang, they were offered a replacement, which they declined.

“Just a warning for everyone — I bought a steak pie from Jade Garden chippy today and when I bit into it, it smelled really off and tasted like it had gone bad. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 Might just be a one-off, but I wanted to mention it so others can be a bit cautious. I’d definitely recommend checking your food before eating just in case. When I rang up he said come back over I’ll give you another one 🤣🤣🤢🤢 absolutely not pal. Will be staying away now 👍🏼”
