“It's better than the last time gutmann had it but it is full of old tat and they have spent no more than 50p on the bogs. In fact the toilets are an absolute disgrace. It used to be good for the footy but now you have to sit in the sauna upstairs try to enjoy the match on a 32" Ferguson Tele. I was amazed they actually had channel 5. It's a shame as this is a great pub and I'm giving 3 stars as at least it is open which is a challenge given the current economic climate plus I sell old taxidermy and he's my biggest customer. Plus they have recreated the Bateaux Tapestry by fixing a rug to the wall as you enter the building. It must have been a challenge transporting it from the Oxfam on smithdown road!!!”

“Been twice since the refurb. Pros - interior and exterior look lovely. Drinks prices have gone down (always a winner) Atmosphere has shifted positively. Dedicated areas for sport. Doormen on. Cons (more of an observation)- plumbing in the gents toilets hasn't been sorted. With the warmer weather, the inside can get unbearable when queuing up. All in, its worth it for a few drinks and theres definitely an improvement.”
