About Love & Rockets
Love & Rockets is a bar and pub-restaurant on Lark Lane in Liverpool, at 52 Lark Ln. The menu centres on burgers and pizzas, including the "For We Have Sinned" burger and a Nashville Hot Chicken burger served with black truffle and Parmesan fries. Cocktails and a beer selection run alongside the food. Door staff enforce a no-tracksuits clothing rule and turn some people away, so guests who dress to meet it avoid being refused at the entrance. Tables fill quickly, and a queue forms at times. A dog-friendly area is part of the space.

Customer Review Summary
Burgers draw the most praise, with diners naming the For We Have Sinned burger, a halloumi burger piled high with halloumi, and a Nashville Hot Chicken burger served with black truffle and Parmesan fries, while others mention pizzas and generous portions. Close behind are the cocktails and beer selection, and a lively, busy atmosphere with cool music. Several describe friendly staff, including a barman, though one reviewer found the staff rude and unfriendly, and two call the food overpriced for what it was. One reviewer reports a blocked cubicle and a soiled floor in the ladies toilets, and another notes the toilets are upstairs only. The sharpest complaints concern the door. Two reviewers say they were refused entry or split from their group over tracksuits while others in similar clothing were let in, and one frames this as discrimination. The other describes the doorman blowing cigarette smoke toward the group when they asked for an explanation.

“I had a very disappointing experience at this pub. I was refused entry, supposedly because I was wearing tracksuit bottoms, yet shortly after, I witnessed other customers—who appeared to be English—being allowed in wearing very similar casual clothing. This inconsistency raises serious concerns about discrimination. Policies should be applied fairly and equally to everyone, regardless of background. Unfortunately, this experience made me feel singled out and unwelcome. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures that all customers are treated with respect and equality in the future.”

“Love & Rockets was one of the highlights of our stop around Lark Lane and easily one of the most unique bars we visited during the day. The atmosphere inside was vibrant and full of character, with a really cool mix of music, décor, and lighting that gave the place a laid-back but lively vibe. It felt stylish without trying too hard, making it a great spot to relax with a drink and soak up the atmosphere. The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our visit, serving our drinks quickly and helping create such a chilled environment. The cocktails and drinks selection were great as well, with plenty of choice whether you're after something classic or a bit different. Overall a unique and energetic pub that stands out from the rest on Lark Lane. I'd recommend stopping by if you’re in the area looking for good drinks and a great atmosphere!”

“Unfortunately I didn't have a great experience here. There was a lively atmosphere and the clientele were on the whole friendly. However when using the ladies toilets they were well below an expected standard. There were 3 cubicles and one was completely blocked with toilet roll and faeces and totally unusable and one of the others had diarrhoea all over the floor!. It was not a pleasant experience. The outdoor smoking area was pretty much enclosed and the air was thick with smoke and vape fumes!. Considering the low standard, it was highly popular but over priced. For such a vibrant area, it didn't meet expectations and fell well below par.”

“Truly disappointed with our visit to the Love & Rockets on Sunday 11th May. We usually go for a walk around Sefton Park on a Sunday and then head to Love & Rockets for drinks and food in the dog-friendly area. We’ve never had a problem before, which makes yesterday’s experience even more disappointing. We arrived around 3:15pm and half of our group were allowed in, while the other half were stopped at the door because two members of our group were wearing Montirex tracksuits. This is a pub in Liverpool, yet apparently after 3pm certain clothing brands are not allowed due to “antisocial behaviour”. What made even less sense was that there were multiple people already inside wearing the same brand. To be judged and treated differently because of clothing is completely unacceptable. We are a proud family of business owners in this city and found the whole experience embarrassing and disrespectful. The doorman was unprofessional and unhelpful throughout. When we politely asked for an explanation, he stood there blowing cigarette smoke towards us rather than handling the situation properly. A very disappointing experience from a place we have regularly visited and previously enjoyed. Based on how we were treated, I’d recommend giving it a miss.”

“The staff were quite rude, and unfriendly. Seemed like they didn't enjoy working there. The food was decent, but not worth the price they offer.”
