About Hare on the Hill
Hare on the Hill is a small gastropub and micro bar in Littleborough, at 132 Hare Hill Rd, set off the road and a short walk from the town centre. The bar pours craft beer, cask ales and cider, and the venue is listed as an Untappd Verified Venue. A wine menu and a cocktail menu sit alongside the draught lines. Bar snacks include pie, scotch eggs and pork crackling. The beer garden holds outdoor cabins, which gives the pub extra space beyond its compact interior. Dogs are welcome inside.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return chiefly for the cask and craft ales, with Vocation Bread & Butter and Cloudwater named and one drinker noting how well the beer is kept and poured. Food runs close behind: the BBQ bacon cheeseburger with chips, chicken wraps and wedges, a vegan meat and potato pie, and rag pudding draw praise. One reviewer loved the pie, scotch eggs and pork crackling bar snacks, though the menu keeps changing. The outdoor cabins and a booked Wild Hut are liked, and several describe friendly staff. Complaints centre on size and noise, with one saying two dogs and ten people leave no room to move, and another finding no greeting at the bar. A few call the drinks steep. One lovely breakfast came after a long wait in a cold room, so that diner would ring the order through first next time.

“We only hav drinks usually as it’s at the bottom of our road & sides with our drinks, the food always smell yummy, I have had lunch there, too much fuss over something simple but I haven’t tried every thing on the menu so I’ll get back to u on rest of the menu, very friendly staff nice atmosphere, drinks are a bit steep. Really decent place to drink & eat in borough u only get what u pay for”

“I got the BBQ bacon cheeseburger with chips from here. Possibly the best burger I’ve ever had! It was fantastic! The chips were perfect too. Top marks.”

“What a fabulous place, cosy friendly and fab selection of Ales and spirits, and their food is amazing, don’t lose that chef!!! We had a family day and booked the Wild Hut, superb, authentic, fabulous service. Can’t say enough good things.”

“I did drink there but I stopped due to they need to get bar manager who is over age of 20. Where i came there wasn't anyone under the age of 20 running pubs & club. Did take my own glass in but they said they lost it. That why stopped drinking and prices are too much. Also when shut in a friend told. He wouldn't serve them but when his friends walked behind them he served his tribute no one else. He treat it like own private bar”

“The size of this place is a huge letdown. They let dogs in but you only need two dogs and ten people in here and you can't move or breathe. My conservatory is bigger. Service is terrible, a small, cosy place you would expect friendliness but there is no welcome, greeting, nothing. They also claim to be part of the Baum and Flying Horse group with the 10% cashback loyalty card but there is no evidence of this inside. When you ring them, everyone seems deaf at the other end of the phone as they always say WHAT??? Which supports my claim of the place being too noisy.”
