Customer Review Summary
The carvery is the main draw at The Sandbrook, with reviewers praising succulent beef, turkey, great roast potatoes, a good selection of veg and excellent gravy. Close behind, the hand-battered fish and chips earns credit for crispy batter, juicy fish and fluffy chips, and the buffet breakfast is called good value, with one reviewer noting everything looks clean and tidy. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and helpful, including on a packed Mother's Day when a table came up quickly and food still arrived without a long wait. The one complaint is minor: peas that were a little on the dry side. Several mention reasonable prices, and one was surprised how quiet a Sunday lunch was given the quality. One reviewer who arrived late after moving house expected to be turned away, instead found the staff kind and the food fresh and hot, and came back the next morning for breakfast.

“We came in last night at about 8:20pm wanting to order some food after a long day of moving house. We expected a bad attitude and left over food, or even to be turned away. We couldn’t have been more wrong, the staff were so kind and welcoming, the food was fresh and hot. We enjoyed it so much we returned for the buffet breakfast this morning and again were met with the same amazing value food and friendly staff. Thank you all for making our weekend!”

“Dropped by The Sandbrook and ordered the hand-battered fish and chips. The Fish: Absolutely delicious. The batter was perfectly crispy, and the fish inside was nice and juicy. The Chips: Great texture—lovely and fluffy on the inside. The Peas: A little on the dry side, but everything else on the plate made up for it. The atmosphere was moderately quiet, making for a nice, relaxing meal. To top it off, the table service was good—attentive without being intrusive. I’d definitely come back for that fish and chips again!”

“The carvery was fabulous. I had beef which was succulent and so tasty, great roast potatoes and a good selection of veg. Gravy was excellent. My brother had beef and turkey (both of which he really rated) and gave the food 9/10 - which for him is extremely high praise All the staff were very friendly. It was Sunday at 1:15 when we came in and I was surprised at how quiet it was seeing as how it such good quality and value for money. Will come again if we’re in the area again.”
