  “Took the family out for lunch as it is a regular thing we do to keep the pub/restaurants going as these are struggling in the current climate. The service was fantastic—welcoming and very professional, especially from the lady behind the bar. The menu looked great with plenty of options to choose from. Three of us ended up ordering the same dish: the garlic cream chicken and one child meal sausages and chips. Our meals arrived fairly quickly, within about 30 minutes (we were the first customers in on 28/11/25). Portion size was good but We were a little surprised to see the Chicken and sauce served separately in a small dish on a board, but thought nothing of it and began to eat. The wedges/chips were delicious, but the chicken was very tough—as if it had been over-boiled or microwaved. The flavour and texture reminded us of a microwave meal. We ate what we could, but my daughter had to leave half of hers, saying it didn’t taste right. Then my wife mentioned the same. I realised it was the chicken as I thought it was simply overdone. Within the hour, my daughter fell ill, followed by my wife, and then myself. None of us have eaten since, and we’re still unwell as I write this review. It’s a real shame because everything else was good. The location and parking were perfect, and the hospitality was spot-on. Unfortunately, the cooking was a major disappointment. We spent £60 only to end up ill, so personally I wouldn’t recommend eating here—but if you’re just looking for a quick pint, it’s probably fine.”
