  “My fiancée and I just dropped in for a coffee as we were passing, so I can’t comment on what the food is like. The coffee however was great. Watching the prep you can tell these guys care about a decent cup of coffee. There’s a decent selection of beverages on the menu and the member of staff who served me was pleasant and very efficient. I didn’t catch her name but it was midday Friday and she had a decorative septum piercing (more decorative than mine). I’d recommend popping here as it’s nicely placed to sit and rest up before (or definitely after) steep hill or a heavy shopping trip.”

  “Just next to the historic stonebow in the centre of Lincoln is Cafe Aroma. A quirky building inside with interest throughout but on a day like today it's people watching from the pavement seats drinking one of Lincolns finest coffee's.”

  “Unfortunately, despite all the good things I had heard about this café, my experience was quite disappointing. I ordered a latte and I was not satisfied with it at all. The barista served me a glass of water and another for the coffee, both of which are shown in the photo. When I went to pay, I noticed that two people behind the counter were calling me to come and pay. Later, I realised they were laughing at me in a particular way because I hadn’t noticed them the first time they called me. I don’t think I will visit this café again, but I hope one day they understand that treating customers with respect is just as important as keeping the glasses clean — although, of course, clean glasses are important too.”

  “Always intrigue and intelligent conversation here. Coffee is wine and had an excellent wine here too. Great place to people watch . Some prominent buisness people pop in here some students and a mix of eccentrics and intellectuals. Yes id rate for a must visit for quirky and its on 3 floor s. You need to be relativly agile to get ip to the loo but im nearly 70 and do ok. Sometimes some nice cakes to go with lovely coffee served with care and glass of water to clear the palattee. Also coffee from all around the world in profusion.”

  “Doesn’t deserve one star. Unfortunately i’ve had good experiences in here before, but today I have never been served by such a moody and grumpy women. The minute I walked in, not even a ‘hello’ ‘what would you like’, just looked at me as though I spoke a different language. She had faded pink hair and definitely doesn’t belong in customer service as me and my friend were taken a back. Feel like I wasted £4.90 on a drink that was slammed to me and made the atmosphere awful.”

  “One can only say if you are a visitor or from Lincoln This is the best Coffee shop ever from the moment you enter though the door your coffee experience begins , I like to sit on the top floor a quirky building that has so much character. The atmosphere is tranquil. I have been going to this coffee shop for over 10 years the coffee is exceptional every time . The barista’s go above and beyond . Highly recommended Brie & Cranberry panini . Cake selection is incredible. If you have the means of making a coffee at home Aroma can grind the beans 🫘 to take home . .   “Nipped in here when the wife went to Primark (thank goodness). Got myself a special brew from Bolivia with hints of sour cherry. Dont be put off by the fact it's filter coffee, or the price, give it a go, it'll change the way you think about coffee (i.e coffee that you can actually taste that isn't just espresso + water). Was a really comfy atmosphere for me to sit for 30 mins with my 5 year old. And the coffee came in a vase with a little water on the side. Will go back if I find myself in Lincoln again.”

  “Had four excellent coffees in our group. All different anc all well made. The is seating inside on the ground and first floor and also awning covered seating outside. Wide variety of cakes and pastries. Also opens as a licensed bar in the evening. That's for next time. Coffee always tastes better at an independent. Enjoyed this one tremendously.”

  “First visit to Coffee Aroma yesterday and what a wonderfully quirky coffee shop it is. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the coffee was glorious, one of the best I’ve had in some time. Rich, smooth and full of flavours. I’m not local to Lincoln, but if I was I know where I’d be getting my coffee fix. Thoroughly recommended.”

  “One of my favourite small coffee businesses in Lincoln! Staff are super friendly and helpful, the coffee is presented beautifully and tastes amazing (love the little sugar cubes) and the atmosphere is great, with 3 different floors all with their uniquely decorated rooms. My favourite being the art wall where you can add your own mark in the shop. Board games are available and it's a cute spot to study or relax by the window watching people pass by.”
