About GRAND Coffee House
Next to Lincoln bus station and close to the train station, GRAND Coffee House is a coffee shop at Lincoln LN5 7BS, so it sits within easy reach of anyone passing through on public transport. The cake and pastry selection is wide and includes a Dubai choc and pistachio cookie pie. For savoury food, the kitchen serves a full English breakfast, sandwiches and a lunch menu with specials. Tea, coffee and smoothies make up the drinks. Old coffee shop signs line the walls, and twinkly lights hang alongside a mix of different tables and chairs. Lounge sofa seating gives a softer place to sit for those who want to stay a while. Seats can be hard to find when the shop gets busy.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the cakes, with one describing a Dubai chocolate and pistachio cookie pie and others noting a large variety of cakes and pastries. Coffee, tea and Irish coffee also draw praise, along with the full English and sandwiches, and several mention fast service. Many describe a cosy, home-like room with fairy lights and comfy chairs, and staff as friendly and welcoming. Its spot beside the bus and train stations comes up repeatedly, and one notes it can get busy, making seats hard to find. The caveats are specific. One diner ordered the special fish pie and found no fish in it, just mash with salad and garlic bread, and felt ripped off. Another got hard boiled eggs instead of poached, pale toast smothered in margarine and a cappuccino compared to dish water. A smoothie was called quite sour and thin. One reviewer was handed a small pair of scissors for opening sauce sachets.

“Love this place very nice, can get quite busy making it hard to find a seat sometimes”

“Well, where do I start, popped in for a lunch, went with the specials! Partner had a sausage Yorkshire with chips & gravy which was actually lovely, we both had some tea, which was nice too. Also was extremely fast service. However.... My personal opinion is that the prices are more reflective of convenience than of quality. Reason being, I went for the "special" fish pie and it really was special in it's own way, being that it had zero containment and I mean not even a spec of fish, ended up with glorified mash potatoe with the salad and garlic bread being more prominent. Wasnt labelled as a veggie option or anything like that, literally just said Fish pie, without any further description. Would've been nice to know this before choosing. Disappointed and felt stupid, double & triple checked for any menu description or silly ,(v), veggie icon but to no prevail. Just felt ripped off for £10.99.”

“If there were a travel brochure titled *“Saga Holidays: Lincoln – The Deluxe Cake Edition”*, this place would be on the front cover. The Grand Coffee Shop is perfectly positioned right next to the bus stop, which means easy access for pensioners, prams, tired shoppers, and anyone whose knees click when they stand up. Absolute prime real estate. Step inside and it’s immediately obvious someone has put real thought (and love) into the place. The café looks fantastic — comfy furniture, loads of different tables and chairs so you never feel like you’re sitting in a copy-and-paste IKEA showroom, and an impressive collection of light fittings that somehow all work together. Old coffee shop signs line the walls, twinkly lights glow in the windows, and the whole place has that cosy “stay for another hour” vibe. Now… the cake. Sweet mercy, the cake. If you like cake, *really* like cake, or just want to stare at cake in disbelief, this is your spiritual home. I chose the Dubai choc and pistachio cookie pie — a bold decision, a brave decision, and possibly a life-shortening decision. Good job I haven’t got diabetes because this thing was absolutely a contender for giving it to me on the spot. I don’t know how I finished it, but I did, and I regret nothing. I’d already hit my maximum coffee intake for the day, so while my wife sensibly enjoyed a pot of tea, I went full rebel and had a bottle of Bulmers cider. Total yin and yang — could not have been further apart on the spectrum if we tried. Staff were genuinely polite and friendly, adding to the warm, welcoming feel. Best coffee and cake shop in Lincoln? Honestly… I’d say yes. Well worth a visit — just maybe wear stretchy trousers. Oh and I didn't mention they do food too!!”

“Located at the bus station and really close to the train station, we popped in for breakfast. Lovely selection of cakes and pastries. We opted for a full English but there was lots of choice on the lunch menu too. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Thumbs up - thankyou.”

“Very pleasant place to pop for a coffee and a bite to eat. Been here a couple of times, fast service and tasty food. Good vibes and you even get a little pair of scissors to open the sauce sachets... helpful if you lack a bit of dexterity like me!”
