About The Tea Cosy
With just six or seven tables inside, The Tea Cosy is a small cafe on The Grn in Lincoln that opens Wednesday to Friday during the daytime only, so booking ahead is advised. The team serves at the table, and the kitchen bakes its own cakes and scones, among them a chocolate cake and a lemon curd scone. Pots of tea lead the drinks list, with coffee alongside. Savoury food is made in house too, running from a bacon butty to quiche and sandwiches. Tables outside sit under parasols for outdoor dining, and dogs are welcome in that area. High chairs are on hand for families with young children.

Customer Review Summary
Homemade baking anchors most visits: reviewers single out proper scones and cakes, from a lemon curd scone to chocolate cake and mint rocky road ordered to take home, alongside generously filled pots of tea. Close behind is the savoury side, with quiche and garnish, a bacon butty, a full English and ham sandwiches all described as homemade and delicious, and one parent notes a children's meal deal box. Waitress service draws warm mentions, several describing the women serving as friendly and happy to take an interest in a child. The recurring trade off is space: with only six or seven tables the room is small and intimate, and one reviewer suggests the outdoor seating for anyone wanting more room. One visitor recounts being refused a table said to be reserved that was never marked as such, then watching two other customers seated there be moved on with markedly different courtesy. A family of ten praise a delivered lunch spread.

“Visited this lovely little gem earlier with family as a stop on our way to the seaside. My little one had the children's meal deal box which was an incredible bargain. We all opted for the quiche with garnish and it did not disappoint. The ladies serving and preparing the food were lovely. No questions were too much and they took an interest in my little one which he loved. It is very intimate inside, so if you're wanting a lot of room then outside might be better. Didn't matter to us though. Thanks so much for your hospitality. We will definitely visit again!”
