Customer Review Summary
Reviewers repeatedly single out the jacket potato loaded with vegetarian chilli, cheese, salad and coleslaw, alongside a well-liked full or all-day breakfast with poached eggs and fried bread, as reasons to return. Close behind is praise for the tea, served in generous non-leaking pots, and coffee that several call good value, with more than one diner noting a full breakfast and coffee for under a fiver. Many reviewers highlight that the cafe operates as a training environment, and consistently describe the staff, though rotating and new to the trade, as friendly, patient and attentive, with one solo traveller praising a server's patience when arriving stressed with a dog in tow. Portions and affordability come up again and again, with diners contrasting the prices favorably against elsewhere in Lincoln. A minor complaint appears just once, a tomato that could have used a little longer in the pan during an all day breakfast. Dog friendly seating outside is mentioned, and the walk through the neighboring Arboretum afterward is a recurring closing note for several visitors.

“Fantastic cafe. I just want to say that training young people the way this place does is an absolute pillar to our community. Really friendly staff, and great location. Will definitely be back!”

“Lovely little cafe for during the week. Quite easy to park in nearby streets. Had all day breakfast which was very filling, tomato could have done with a little longer in pan but otherwise all good. Tea was in lovely big pot and good sized glass of fruit juice. Price very competitive and attentive and polite students. Lovely walk in Arboretum after. Recommended 👍🏼”

“This was by far the highlight of my trip to Lincoln. As a solo traveller with a dog it has been super hard to find a nice place to eat that's not junk food and go to the loo. By the time I got there, I was really stressed after walking miles & struggling to find somewhere that was appropriate for the little fella but the server was patient and friendly. Not only were they dog friendly (I opted to sit outside), the food was super affordable AND actually nice. No weird ingredients to hike the price up, no complicated menu... just lovely, homemade, proper food and relatively healthy too. Having paid £5 for a coffee multiple times in Lincoln, I was chuffed to get a lush dinner, a bottle of coke and a sausage for the dog for £8. And even better, a lovely couple sitting outside too offered to hold the dog while I went to the toilet. By far the least stressful part of my travels. Thankyou. 😀”
