About Rising Cafe
Rising Cafe is a cafe in Lincoln staffed entirely by people recovering from homelessness and addiction. All of its proceeds go to the charity Betel UK, which supports people facing life-controlling issues, so every meal funds that work. The kitchen makes its food in house, cakes and scones included, and uses Lincolnshire products where it can. Brunch includes Turkish eggs, and the lunch menu runs to burgers and a Chicago hot dog. Afternoon Tea is also on offer. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes sit alongside the meat options, and the team accommodates allergies. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the burgers and sides, with the double burger, buttermilk chicken burger and vegan chicken burger named alongside halloumi fries, chicken bites and sweet potato fries. Close behind are brunch dishes, where one pair called the Turkish eggs and sage eggs outstanding, and a gluten free bread with smashed avocado drew praise. The menu's range for vegetarians, vegans and gluten free diners comes up repeatedly, and one reviewer notes the staff were accommodating with allergies. Staff are described as friendly, chatty and happy to explain the menu, and several mention the cafe's charity ethos and the owner's welcome. The atmosphere is called cosy, lively and fun in its theming. The one criticism is small: a diner ordering the goat wished it had come with crisps or salad, though they still found it delicious. Several say they plan to return, and one family visiting Lincoln for football said they would come back just for the cafe.

“First time coming here and we were definitely blown away! Great options for vegetarians/vegans, delicious food, wonderful and friendly service! I think it is especially lovely knowing that by visiting here, you are supporting a non profit charity. Our recommendations: the chicken club sandwich, or the vegan chicken burger for non meat eaters!!”

“Beautiful place with fun theming and great food to match. Staff were very friendly and so accommodating with allergies. So much choice on the menu so we will be back to try more! We had burgers with a side of KFC but no photo as too excited to try.”

“Ate here for the first time and we were really impressed with the food! It was delicious and you get what you pay for. I would have loved the goat to have come with crisps/salad but never the less, was still amazing. Kind, friendly staff and great atmosphere.”
