Customer Review Summary
Cooked breakfasts anchor the praise here, especially the veggie breakfast, which one reviewer calls superb, alongside a full English and bacon baps. Close behind come the evening mains, with a rump steak and a steak pie described as delicious, plus toasties, egg and chips, and generous cheesy chips. Homemade cake, including a huge Victoria sponge, gets mentioned too. Reviewers repeatedly praise the generous portions and value, the friendly, welcoming staff and the cosy, relaxed feel, and several single out the host who also cooks. Dog owners mention a menu for their pets and sitting outside. The criticism is smaller but specific. One diner found the sausages low quality and the French bread hard as slate, and reports lots of flies, no table service and a loud radio. Another describes an abrupt server who set the coffee tray down forcefully with a curt there you go. One cyclist recalls staff lending a bucket of water to find a puncture in an inner tube.

“A nice cozy local cafe with lovely staff and great food. The toasties are off the scale. Brilliant. Even though the staff were rushed off their feet, it was lunchtime, they still smiled and kept going. Beats any American diner!”

“Went here for an English breakfast. The food was cooked okay but the sausages were of a low quality and the French bread was as hard as slate. Lots of flies. Flying around the room and no table service. They also had an awful radio station blasting out throughout so it was hard to enjoy my meal. Wasn't that cheap either.”
