About Banger's Cafe

Banger's Cafe serves breakfast and lunch on High St in Lincoln, with an entrance on Peel Street that offers step-free, wheelchair-accessible access. The kitchen turns out a jumbo full English breakfast, cooked by the owner, who will swap items on request. High chairs are on hand for families with young children. The cafe opens daily during the day, and reservations are recommended. Historic photos of the area line the walls. For those eating off site, the cafe offers delivery as well as Too Good To Go pick-up orders.

Customer Review Summary

The full English breakfast is the clear draw, with reviewers repeatedly praising crispy bacon, sausages, eggs, hash browns and generous portions, plus a jumbo version singled out for its size. Close behind is the welcome from the owner, described across multiple visits as friendly, chatty and willing to swap items on the breakfast, alongside a community feel and homemade lasagne and Greek takeout also mentioned. Several reviewers call out great value and quick service, though experiences are inconsistent: one customer describes a return visit with a greasy plate, missing items, higher charges and swearing overheard from the kitchen, while another reports fish finger baps with overcooked fish and a long wait after drinks were finished. A more serious account describes a Too Good To Go order arriving over thirty minutes late with mouldy bread in a toastie and out of date crisps, alongside an unwelcoming staff member. A delivery customer also reports the driver behaving rudely despite the food itself arriving hot. Even with these complaints, most reviewers say they'd return, with one noting the entrance sits on Peel Street rather than the High Street.

“Stopped by Banger’s Cafe for a full English breakfast and it was absolutely spot on. Everything was cooked perfectly – crispy bacon, tasty sausages, eggs done just right, quality hash browns and generous portions all round. You can tell they use good ingredients rather than cutting corners. The staff were really friendly and welcoming, service was quick, and the café had that proper traditional greasy spoon atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Great value for money too. If you’re after a proper full English that fills you up without breaking the bank, I honestly can’t recommend Banger’s Cafe enough. I’ll definitely be back.”

“The best in lincoln 100%. Its nice to have a cafe that actually serves the top quality grub and none of that cheap bland flavourless grub you find everywhere else. The staff are friendly and welcome you in and make you feel at home... a good selection of drinks (hot and cold) .Kids menu, Hot/Cold Sandwiches, full english breakfast and a whole lot more (even do Sunday dinner)”

“I have been twice to this establishment on my 1st visit the owner was amazing down to earth and happy to conversate with me reasonably priced and amazing food I was very happy with my food and on my way I visited again on the 20th April to a lady that looked like she really didn't want to be there (charged me more than I was charged on my first visit for the same order with items missing from my food that I had on 1st visit) the plate was swimming in grease not a happy visit this occasion hole I was sat eating I heard the member off staff swearing in the kitchen for me not a problem but for customers that would take children in there not professional at all like I say the owner is amazing and full off joy I will be back hopefully to see happy smiley faces next time keep up the good work and amazing food 😁”

“Our fish finger baps had overcooked fish fingers. My wife did not like the spread in it, but we were not given an option. I object to cafes that ask how many sugars you want in your hot drink then add it for you rather than giving customers a supply to add themselves. We waited what seemed ages for the food to arrive by which time we had finished our drinks. The only "atmosphere" came from the historic photos of the area on the walls. We won't be returning.”
