Customer Review Summary
Diners most often single out the sticky toffee pudding, with one saying they would go back just for it and another calling it the perfect way to finish a meal. Close behind are the mains: the Plough Burger described as a massive portion, fish and chips as a regular favourite, a mushroom stroganoff, home cooked lasagne, and homemade faggots. One vegan reviewer praises the tofu and pine nut pasta and the vegan pudding, and another calls a Sunday lunch one of the best they have had. Reviewers also mention friendly, efficient service and a canal towpath setting, with outdoor dining after a long walk and a dog friendly atmosphere. The one criticism is that the gammon was slightly tough, though still tasty. Several describe staff going out of their way, and one family holding a meal after a funeral says the team rearranged the table for extra guests and found a bucket of water for a large flower arrangement.

“Second time coming here and the food never disappoints. They use quality ingredients and everything tastes amazing. The Plough Burger was a massive portion and really tasty. The gammon was slightly tough but still tasty and the fish and chips are always our favourite. We didn’t have it on this occasion but the sticky toffee pudding is to die for, we’d go back just for it.”

“We were made so welcome here for a meal following a family funeral. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They quickly rearranged our table for more guests than we had booked for, found a bucket of water for the huge flower arrangement I was carrying, and gave us essential travel information that got some of our party safely back to Blackburn and Glasgow when the trains were disrupted by the heatwave. And the food was great too!! Would highly recommend.”

“It's so lovely to see a place put some thought into vegan options, the tofu and pine nut pasta was delicious and it's lovely to see a vegan pud too for a change. Really recommend for my fellow vegans ❤️”

“Lovely location along the canal towpath. After an 8-mile walk, we decided to pop in for a drink and possibly something to eat. The food looked amazing from what we could see being served, so we decided to dine outside, and we weren’t disappointed. The staff were friendly, the service was very good, and the food was excellent. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and would happily visit again.”
