About Flame ingo Grill
At 19 Highcross St in Leicester, Flame ingo Grill hands the cooking to the table, where a charcoal grill fired with briquettes rather than electric elements does the work. The meat selection for grilling runs from pork and sirloin steak to lamb, duck and ox tongue, and a self-serve station stocked with a wide range of dipping sauces lets each guest match sauces to what comes off the grill. A separate menu of Chinese dishes runs alongside, including pork noodles and beef noodle soup, with gyoza, takoyaki, chicken balls and beef fried rice among the starters and sides. A free water dispenser sits on the floor, and a sign asks guests not to bring outside drinks. Reservations are recommended. The kitchen serves Monday to Sunday with the exception of Wednesdays, when it stays closed, and drivers should note that parking nearby can be difficult.

Customer Review Summary
The charcoal grill sits at the center of nearly every account, with diners noting the briquettes give a smoky flavour they say electric grills elsewhere miss, and calling the meat selection large and uniformly good. The duck draws the most detailed praise, described as high quality with very little fat, while another reviewer singles out the ox tongue as tender and a highlight of the meal. Close behind sit the noodle dishes, one describing a rich, slow-cooked pork noodle broth, and another urging others to try the beef noodle soup; one reviewer strongly suggests the takoyaki, and gyoza, beef fried rice and chicken balls also come up. Portions are repeatedly called generous for what they cost, and the staff are described as welcoming, patient with dietary preferences and with young children. Complaints are scattered: one found drink prices steep given a no outside drinks sign, one missed oyster sauce and bean paste, one sat in a dim area, and one calls parking a nightmare. Several mention the complimentary self-serve fruit, honeydew melon and orange slices, and the free water dispenser at the sauce station.

“A Korean-style BBQ restaurant run by Chinese owners, with a menu that offers a wide range of authentic Chinese dishes alongside Korean BBQ. I ordered the pork noodles, and the broth was rich, earthy, and full of umami. It had a deep, slow-cooked flavour that made for a really satisfying bowl. I also tried the ox tongue, which was incredibly tender and packed with flavour—definitely one of the highlights of the meal. A nice touch was the complimentary self-serve fruit before the meal, including honeydew melon and orange slices. The food felt authentic, the portions were generous, and there are plenty of dishes you won't commonly find on the menu at most Chinese restaurants in the UK. I'd happily return to explore more of the menu.”

“First time we have come here. Exceptional experience. The waiter was great and we have been to a few Korean BBQ restaurants in the city centre and this would be top 3. Very clean, well decorated, food was great, family firndly considering we were here with a three year old and a 1 year old. Defo a place to come back to and explore the menu more.”

“Amazing food! First time going and everything is brilliant! Nothing too spicy. The barbecue is mouth watering and the Bbq beef is the best things on the menu! Definitely visit again!”

“The best restaurant in Leicester! From the service to the amazing food, the whole place deserves 5 stars. If you want to have a date night or are just looking for some hearty, great-tasting food, I highly recommend it! You have to try the beef noodle soup!”

“Really nice restaurant. It seemed quite traditional, I’m not Asian but we were the only European eating, the rest of the customers were from Asia. And I think this is a very good sign! The waitresses were super kind and friendly.”
