  “This was my first time eating at Shimlas and it was a first class experience. Ripa and Mustapha were lovely. They were warm and friendly and provided first class service. The tikka is cooked fresh on the premises and I was informed about how long it would take, to make sure that I didn't get impatient waiting for it. It arrived much quicker than expected and was well worth the wait. It was tastefully spiced and absolutely delicious. I'll be recommending Shimlas to my friends and will definitely be back soon.”

  “So went for something to eat and it was sooo nice!!! 😋 Everything we ordered was amazingly tasty!! Lovely little restaurant,interior is decorated so nice!! Very attentive staff,can't do enough for you!! They are so friendly and helpful!! Just ask and they will do their best to help you!! Food's amazing!! We had a table full when our main came!!!! Mind blown n stomach!!! 😂 Had a starter and a curry each but had a starter n shared a curry each next time! Portions are big!! Pilau rice alone is fabulous!! So colourful,looks and tastes amazing,love it!!! Had Naga Naga Chicken wings,buttery one's,fricking amazing!!!! 😋😋 That sauce is fantastic,want it on tap!! Sooo tasty,ordered a roti just to dip in the sauce!! 😋 Mega!!! Have dreams about that sauce n the red onions!!!! 😊 And the lovely staff,Mustaffa,big up to you and the lovely young lady who helped us choose from the menu!! You guys are fab!!   “I had a fantastic experience at Shimla’s on Roundhay Road in Leeds. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, welcoming, and professional. A special thank you to Mustafa, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely valued as customers. It’s rare to receive service of such a high standard these days, and Mustafa is a real credit to the restaurant. I’d also like to thank all of the waitresses and the rest of the team, who were equally polite, hardworking, and always smiling. Everyone worked together brilliantly to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The food was outstanding—fresh, full of flavour, beautifully presented, and served promptly. The restaurant itself was spotless, with a great ambience that’s perfect for families, couples, or friends. It’s easy to see why Shimla’s has such a great reputation. Excellent food, exceptional customer service, and a team that genuinely cares about its customers. I’ll definitely be returning and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a quality dining experience in Leeds. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 – Keep up the fantastic work!”

  “Ordered lamb handi on the bone. It turns out the bones was the centre piece of the meal. Couldn’t find much meat on the bones. Felt had….. thank you Shimlas”

  “We visited Shamla Restaurant on Roundhay Road on the eve of the England vs Argentina match after being invited by a friend from Leeds. We ordered two seekh kebabs on naan and one chicken donner on naan. The food arrived after about 10 minutes. The seekh kebabs were acceptable, but the chicken donner was served cold. We informed the waiter, who took it back to the kitchen. It appeared they simply reheated it and brought it back, but although it was warmer, the taste was still terrible. The salad quality was also very disappointing. The cucumber pieces were dry, and the onions did not taste fresh at all. At the end of the meal, we asked if they served any hot drinks, but the answer was no. Overall, a very disappointing experience. The food was poor in quality, lacked freshness, and was not worth the money. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant.”

  “Waited over 35 minuets until we had to ask the staff how long the food was going to be, they looked a bit shocked like they forget to put our order in. They then said 2/3 mins but ended up another 10 minuets, the food came out it was such small end pieces and like burnt. I did not eat it and the manager got me another one but still made us pay for it. Will stick to the bradford branch this was not a good experience at all”

  “I recently visited Shimla, which is conveniently located on a main road—though parking is quite limited. We were lucky enough to find a spot just behind the building. First impressions were positive: the restaurant was clean and well-presented, although the downstairs seating area felt a bit cramped. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a friendly staff member and seated straight away. Since it was a Sunday evening, it was fairly quiet with only a few occupied tables, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. Service was efficient—the staff took our order promptly, and the food arrived quickly. We started with the Dynamite chicken and Dynamite prawns, and these were definitely the highlight of the meal. Both dishes were packed with flavour, and the sauce really elevated them—easily a 10/10. Next, we tried the hummus and chicken donner. While it was nicely presented, it felt overpriced at £5.99 for such a small portion, and the taste didn’t quite deliver. For mains, we ordered the chicken donner, which unfortunately was disappointing. It was quite dry and didn’t taste particularly fresh, so it’s not something I’d order again. The cheesy chicken stir fry was decent, with a generous portion size and plenty of sauce. However, it leaned more towards a curry-style dish, which wasn’t quite what we expected or preferred. In total, the bill came to around £50 including three drinks, which felt reasonable overall. Final thoughts: I’d consider coming back to try more of the starters, as they were excellent, but I wouldn’t rush back for the mains.”
