  “Lamin the chef was excellent along with Lucy our waitress, excellent customer service, nothing was too much trouble, food was the best we have tasted for a long time. Highly recommend if you are visiting the area to pop along.The Manager came over to speak to us at our request. Nice to find a place that is dog friendly and welcoming.”

  “We had a lovely lunch yesterday. The best kind: spontaneous and unexpected. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was very impressive: I had the fish and chips (with mushies and tartare sauce) cooked perfectly. And my lovely Hubby the steak frites (a special) plus garnish and mustard mayonnaise. Cooked by Andy and Laming. Excellent. Thank you. We’ll be back soon xx”

  “Ate Sunday lunch here for my sister's 60th birthday. When I looked at the menu for the Sunday lunch I was shocked at the price. £27 for a trio of meats and an addition all £6 for pigs in blankets. No mash either. The majority of the meal was nice, but beef was rare and the rest there wasn't much. In addition to this cost was a 10% service charge. In my opinion this is an expensive meal and I can get better where I live in Durham for a lot less and could find places in Leeds better value too. The service was ok, and the beer garden is nice. I'd not visit again though.”

  “Seemed a really popular spot. We arrived here after a walk around the local area for a drink and a sit in the beer garden. A good range of beer on tap, a BBQ outside on this particular day smelled great, and a large good menu. Will head back with more time to check out the menu!”

  “We had a great lunch today, there was a BBQ menu and the food was delicious. Service great. The outside space does need a spruce up though, there are far too many tables crammed on to the terrace and the fake grass doesn’t look good. Furniture all looking tired. Appreciate it’s difficult to keep it looking pristine but it did look a tad scruffy unfortunately.”

  “Attended a Wake here. Staff were extremely accommodating and efficient. They presented a lovely buffet lunch and worked hard clearing glasses and plates. A great team effort. Well done to all the staff working to make a perfect end to a villager's life.”

  “My partner and I have been here a few times for dinner and I can say the beef burger is absolutely exceptional. Best burger I’ve ever tasted. Service is also consistently good every time we come. Would recommend.”

  “Great place to visit for Sunday lunch, or any meal for that matter. I've been once before, several years ago, and it's as good as I remembered. Very generous portions of fresh food, and a good selection of ales, beers, wines and spirits. Definitely worth the drive from Leeds!”
