Customer Review Summary
Patties are the most repeated draw, described as soft, big and thick, nearly a meal in themselves, with one pair buying a takeaway box to reheat in an air fryer. Close behind is haddock fried in beef dripping, praised as firm and flaky under light, crispy batter, alongside chips called crispy outside and fluffy inside. Curry sauce, thick mushy peas, the local tatties and a gluten free option also come up, and staff are called friendly. Complaints are specific. One regular describes a delivery order marked completed while no food arrived, missing items, skinned fish requests ignored and sighing staff on the phone. Another binned a fish because the skin was left on without warning, and one found the batter too thick and undercooked. A spam fritter was a step too far for one table. One family was handed free tatties to take home for the kids.

“I've been coming here for quite some time now and it's become my regular and favourite battered fish in Hull. Never once have I had anything wrong with anything I've ordered from there. Consistently 10/10 and the staff are always polite, helpful and enjoying their job, even at busy periods they are quick, work well together and the fish is always faultless. I do think Lacey deserves an early night though especially as she provides a fantastic customer service every time she serves me and others. I'd highly recommend East Park Chippy to anyone.”

“We were up from Reading to see family and hankering for fish and chips. Gorgeous weather but we thought most of Yorkshire would be at the coast meaning long queues. Now Sunday opening is still novel to me for Fish and Chip shops bit having a restaurant sit down is a bonus. There's some blackboards with specials on and full blown menu with meat and fish specials. We ordered a fish special with a pudding to follow £9.95 a pudding costs £4.25. Bargain! A scampi and chips, a medium fish chips and peas which comes with a pattie and a drink for £12.30. A jumbo fish for £11. Then spam fritters one with cheese. We didn't have to wait too long and the fish special was a golden piece of fish told it was small bit it wasnt it was a perfect piece for small appetite or OAP. The medium fish and jumbo was harder to differentiate. The chips were on all plates outstanding.bsome of the best I've had. Haddock was firm and flakes. Turns out the warnings of spam fritter might be a fritter too far was right. Sheepishly asking for a tray to take the pattie and fritter home. The young girl serving was excellent well worth leaving a tip. Friendly staff and great food and a great 1st try here.”

“We always try to eat here on our visits back to Hull from Portugal. The fish is fantastic and available with or without skin and it is fried in beef dripping for the best flavour. Their patties are the best. They do gluten free options for coeliacs too. The café is bright and cheerful and the staff are warm and friendly to regulars and newbies alike.”

“Ive been eating from here from the first day it opened but recently its just been rubbish. They have an app to order food, says its being processed, then completed. 45 minutes later no food. We booked for delivery at 6. Its now 7. So I ring, oh there's a 2 hour wait! We booked this morning for 6? Paid over £45! How did we know there's a 2 hour wait when it says completed? Could have gone to the wrong address. We always ask for skinned...rarely get that right The order its self...rarely get that right always something missing. Ive given up ringing to get stuff put right as its clearly such a chore to get it right. Sighing staff, its not my fault we are busy, oh the apps to blame the list goes on. The food quality is very very hit and miss. You are paying alot of money for food thats not right, poor sizes etc. I still go here out of loyalty to Matty but that only gets you so far. Shop around, there are other chippies in the area that would love your business especially a £45 order and certainly wouldn't sigh down the phone at you when you are chasing an order thats an our late.”

“The thickness of the batter was disgusting, to thick and undercooked. 24hrs later down with D&V after eating. I will be swirving this place in the future”
