About The Dancing Goat Coffee House
The Dancing Goat Coffee House is an independent coffee shop at 554 Beverley Rd in Hull, voted Coffee Shop of the Year in the 2018 Hull Daily Mail Food and Drink Awards. The kitchen bakes its cakes and desserts from scratch and prepares food to order, with tea, milkshakes and hot chocolate alongside the coffee. The Signature Afternoon Tea comes on a tiered plate with sandwiches, quiche, buns and scones. Lunch dishes such as avocado on toast widen the menu beyond cake, and a deluxe buffet offers sandwiches, scotch eggs, crisps and salads. Groups of around 12 book a table in advance, so the team can arrange the space for them. Parking is on nearby streets, with a bay at the front.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the homemade cakes, with chocolate cake and a creamy hot chocolate named alongside a good cup of tea and a milkshake. Close behind is the food, from avocado on toast to a hot, fresh lunch, and one group praised a deluxe buffet of sandwiches, scotch eggs, crisps and salads as tasty and great value. Staff are described again and again as friendly, patient and welcoming, with one walking group saying they shuffled tables to fit them in. That group, around a dozen strong, advises booking in advance. The one real complaint comes from an afternoon tea visitor who found the sandwiches, quiche, buns and scones tiny, could not tell the two signature teas from the traditional one on a plate holding three servings, and called it disappointing for the price. Others describe the place as quiet on a school day, with indoor and outdoor seating, and one reviewer notes the parking bay at the front can be full.

“Good cup of tea, milkshake and cakes. The staff member was really friendly and patient with us deciding! It was quite quiet on a school day time. The cakes were homemade and delicious! Parking was available on nearby streets. There is a parking bay at the front, but it can be full. There is outside seating when the weather is good.”

“HU6 Walking Group have regularly booked a table at Dancing Goat because of its popularity, we have turned up just for drinks and their hasn't been a table available for us, but the staff have shuffled tables and chairs around and made us feel very welcomed and no trouble at all. So, when we have agreed to eat here, we know because we are a group of around 12 people, we had better book in advance in order for the staff to arrange a space to accommodate us. The food as always is and has been faultless, so on behalf of our group, would unreservedly recommend a visit to Dancing Goat, to sample the food, drinks and hospitality. Keep up the great work.”
