About Druid Coffee & Bakes
Druid Coffee & Bakes is a coffee shop in Hull, at 131 Chanterlands Ave. The frontage looks small, yet it opens into hidden back rooms and cubby holes, so the space runs deeper than the street view suggests. The menu pairs freshly made coffee with a bacon bagel and a 3 cheese bagel for something savoury. Cakes come in a changing selection that includes carrot cake. Near the front, a window seat sits beneath a fan. Dogs are welcome, so walkers can bring their companions along.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the cakes, with the carrot cake called the best one diner had eaten and the lemon and blueberry cake described as lovely. Close behind are the coffee, which several say is hot, freshly made and beautifully roasted, and the bagels, including a 3 cheese bagel and a bacon bagel paired with a mocha. Bacon sarnies are noted for having plenty of bacon rather than a skimpy portion. Many remark that the shop looks small from the street but opens into cubby holes and rooms at the rear, which one writer calls ideal for working. The atmosphere is repeatedly called relaxed, and staff are described as friendly and welcoming, with one saying they remember regulars' preferences and another saying the coffee was made exactly to their liking. No recurring complaints appear. Reviewers close on small details such as the adorable mugs and a window seat kept toasty by a fan on a cold winter morning.

“I’ve been coming here since it opened and have nothing but praise and compliments to give. Although, my visits can be sporadic, it is my go-to place whenever I can get there. The place is delightful, the atmosphere pleasant and relaxed, the staff friendly and remember your preferences between visits, the food and drinks delicious, the prices reasonable. Go there, enjoy a drink and a cake, go away feeling relaxed and happy.”
