About Living Room
In a former bank building at 62 King Edward St in Hull city centre, Living Room is a coffee shop run as a cause-supporting cafe that helps people get back into employment. The food menu includes a build-your-own breakfast with scrambled eggs, hash browns and beans, and a French dip sandwich served with dipping gravy. Drinks run from loose leaf teas to iced and frozen options, so there is a choice for colder days and warmer ones alike. The cake selection closes out the menu, along with a scone served with jam and clotted cream.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the bacon and egg roll and bacon butty, with one calling the chipotle mayo version incredible and another naming it the best bacon butty they have had. Close behind are the toasties, French toast and French dip sandwich, whose dipping gravy one reviewer calls fabulous. Others mention Huevos Rotos, avocado on toast, a build-your-own breakfast of scrambled egg and hash browns, and a lemon blueberry frozen drink. Coffee, loose leaf tea and a peppermint tea pot also draw praise, and the servers are described as friendly, warm and welcoming. Several call the food delicious and fresh, and some say it is reasonably priced. The one recurring complaint is cost: a reviewer found sandwiches at that level a lot, even though tasty, and also noted the Italian sub arrived cold from the fridge. One group of sixteen arrived unannounced and still got hot and cold drinks quickly, and a couple left saying they would be back.

“We stopped by the Living Room for lunch and were absolutely blown away. I had the chicken cotelleta and my husband had the bacon and egg roll. The bacon and egg roll is incredible with a chipotle mayo.”, both were unbelievable! You could tell every bite was made with fresh ingredients, bursting with incredible flavour. It was exceptional quality and great value for money. To drink, we ordered the lemon blueberry frozen drink and a decaf latte. Both were so delicious we genuinely didn't want them to end! It was spotlessly clean, and the service was nothing short of fantastic. Everyone served us with a warm, friendly smile that made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. Knowing that dining here supports such a brilliant cause. helping people get back into employment, makes it all the more special. Well worth a visit, and we will definitely be back!”
