  “Came in today and unfortunately had a really disappointing experience with the lady serving us (she was wearing glasses). We sat at a table that still had the previous customers' leftovers on it. We politely asked if the table could be cleaned, and she replied "bare with us" (in a passive way with a face on ) which was absolutely fine. However, she never came back and instead started cleaning the counter. When she later returned to clear the previous customers plates, she still didn't clean the table again had this unwelcoming face on. We didn't say anything at first because we assumed she might have been having a difficult day. as there were still pieces of leftover chicken scattered across the table. I politely asked again her response in a passive way "bare with us". She wiped the food off the tabel onto the floor beside us, left it there, and walked away without sweeping it up. (By the way the way she flicked the chicken onto the floor was funny and rude at the same time) I completely understand that everyone can have bad days. I genuinely try to be understanding. But there was no need for the dismissive attitude we experienced. If she was struggling, I hope she feels able to ask her colleagues for support rather than taking it out on customers. It left us feeling disappointed.”

  “We came here expecting a professional and welcoming experience, but unfortunately, the customer service was very cold and the staff were not friendly at all. We left feeling disappointed 😏 We kindly suggest providing your staff with some customer service training so they can communicate with clients in a warmer and more welcoming manner. A friendly attitude and a smile can make a big difference.”

  “Firstly it was my daughters birthday so I went online and booked a table it came up as available online but when I showed up they said there was no tables - it was fully booked even though there was tables which were empty and could easily have been put together. They had none of vegan options we’re available so we asked for chips but they said they were cooked with the fried chicken and meats. The staff seemed annoyed that we stayed despite it being ‘fully booked’ even thought only two tables had reserved on them. The food was nice but they got two orders wrong and had to take them back. Overall experience not great for a birthday treat especially when we spent over £120.”

  “Visited gelatos a few times. Today was a treat for my grandchildren. The table we sat at needed wiping. Didn't get wiped. There was ice cream wafers on the seat near my granddaughter. The floor underneath our seat was full of food. Had to ask for a glass for our drinks. Bueno dough was nice. 2 pizzas.crusts were very dry. Altogether not a great visit.”

  “I am a long time customer of this cafe. I came in yesterday for a coffee as I work 12 hour shifts. I was in the queue and finally went to place an order. I stuttered when I said what I wanted to order so the young girl on the till told me to step to the side and let someone else order. She they proceeded to serve 3 other people and took an awful tone with me. I left the cafe without ordering and will not be returning again. It’s the second time this week I’ve been made to feel awkward. The first time I took my dog and was waiting outside. I left her outside to place an order and waited nearly 40 minutes for one coffee and ice cream as they had forgotten about my order It was not as busy at it usually is. The customer service has massively gone down hill. Super disappointed.”

  “One of my daughter’s absolute favourite places in Hull is Cafe Gelato. It’s conveniently located close to her school, and almost every time I pick her up, she insists we stop by and honestly, I can see why. She especially loves their pizza and burgers, and their ice cream is a real highlight. They offer a wide variety of flavours, so there’s always something new to try, which keeps her excited every visit. The place has a nice, relaxed café vibe perfect for a quick bite or a casual treat after school. If you enjoy café-style food and have a sweet tooth, this is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended, especially for families or anyone looking for a simple, enjoyable food experience in Hull”

  “My friends and I visit Caffe Gelato weekly for our coffee mornings and we absolutely love it. The service is top notch, the food and drinks are lovely and the staff are friendly. This all adds together to create such a welcoming environment. Special mention to Emma for being extra lovely, thank you for making our coffee mornings even more special 🙂💛”
