  “Fine dining? More like style over substance. Very disappointed. A long way to go for an overcooked burger, miniature portions and everything garnished with chicory. The chips served in mini metal frying baskets. The portion sizes are outragesly small. The place has no atmosphere. Fine dining??? I don't think so. Or more importantly, Why? Won't be back again. Bring back the old style and menu.”

  “We eat a Sunday roast here yesterday and it was sensational. I woke up today still thinking about how delicious the meal was :) highly recommend. Staff were attentive and the place was nice and relaxing. Thanks 🌟”

  “Incredible experience. We hosted our wedding breakfast at The Fox House in May and the whole experience was faultless. Tina and Kelly were fantastic, their support and guidance was brilliant. Everything was delivered way over expectations and looked beautiful. The food is great, the service is great and the setting is beautiful. HIGHLY recommend for weddings or other occasions”

  “Had high expectations for this place. The food was nice and fairly priced. However the fact that it was quite the service was slow and a desert was missed. Had a check back happened this would have been sorted but it wasn’t so one of the party members went without as we couldn’t see the staff. We asked for the bill which took a further 35 minutes to arrive and that is because we had to ask for it again. However the manager did remove a glass of wine from the bill to compensate for the mishap which was fair. Had to see what it would be like if it was actually busy. Overall good.”

  “Service is amazing, they do private events so call in first to check. Food is ok. Steak is not great but salmon was good. Sunday lunch is a good deal. Will be back often.”

  “This is fine dining and the food is excellent. The restaurant was pretty much full by 12.30 (Sunday 25th January). The menu was small, however, I found choosing easier. The service was excellent and friendly. Our meals were delicious and beautifully presented. I just felt it lacked a little atmosphere. That could be me. I don't think it should put people off.”

  “We booked the Fox House for our wedding breakfast and it didn't disappoint. We met with Tina and Cat to discuss what we wanted, and when we arrived they had decorated the room, it was stunning. We chose the 3 courses from an extensive menu and it was delicious. All credit to the staff, Tina, Cat, Mia, Tom, Eleanor and Nicole who went above and beyond to make sure we were attended to and helped make our evening very special. They were helpful, friendly and professional. Thank you for making the evening so memorable!”

  “Last visited 18 months ago and enjoyed it so much I was looking forward to returning. Unfortunately this visit will be stuck in the memory for all the wrong reasons. Seems to now be a restaurant in a pub rather than wholesome Yorkshire pub grub. My last meal was a slow cooked beef stew and I struggled to eat it all. This time I couldn't find anything on the menu I fancied and ended up with the curried lentil cottage pie. The difference was night and day. The portion was starter size served with a side dressing of salad. That's it for £19! My mum had the lamb and was served with a slice of potato, no veg for £26 My son had a burger (as they do) and the onion rings were an extra £5 The lamb and burger were ok but Not at these prices when expected items are sold separately. Atmosphere might be ok for a night out in town sat under a speaker with loud music blaring out and unable to hear each other speaking, I've now got a banging headache. Unfortunately whoever made these changes hasn't done so to improve the place as I remember it being really busy compared to the few of us in this time. The staff were pleasant and efficient and it's not their fault for the poor value for money”
