About Parish
On Queen St in Huddersfield, Parish is a pub and live music venue housed in a building like an old county court. Gigs take place upstairs, and the bar downstairs serves a range of beers and other drinks. The kitchen sends out burgers, and the menu includes vegan options, among them a vegan taco, so a table with mixed diets can order from one menu. The two floors let the pub run as a music room and a place to drink and eat at the same address. Parish is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers mostly come for Parish as a live music venue, praising it as an intimate space with a loud, clear sound system upstairs and a crowd that respects the place. One mentions a Stephen Fretwell gig and another describes it as suited to goth, rock and alternative fans. Close behind is the food, with the burgers called the best one reviewer has ever had and another saying they were told the burgers were a must try. Diners also describe portions as great and the food as always special. A vegan and coeliac visitor recounts a server working with the chefs to put together a vegan taco without advance booking. The beer range gets repeated mentions, and one reviewer calls it fairly priced. Staff are described as friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the drinks, and one reviewer notes a responsive security team. A beer garden and plenty of seating also come up, and one visitor says the bar plays a playlist at a level where people can still talk. No recurring complaint appears, though one reviewer says it is usually quiet during the day and likely busier in the evening.

“Great service all staff very friendly and welcoming, food is great portions and unbelievably good. Love the selections of beer and you can tell a lot of love goes into every part of the behind the scenes. Only been before for gigs will definitely return when we are back in the area”

“I’m vegan and coeliac so can often have trouble finding places to eat last minute! The menu here had a good amount of vegan options so I gave it a try with my friend. The wait staff were so great and the woman serving us sorted everything out with the chefs. I let them know that within those dietary requirements I’ll eat anything, they put together an amazing vegan taco option. I was so grateful! Particularly considering I hadn’t booked ahead So lovely and never made me feel like I was being a pain despite me creating them extra work. I’ve since been back for drinks later on and they were lovely then too! Will definitely be coming back!”

“Perhaps my favourite live venue in the UK, a really great place to see bands up close and personal, with a team of staff who are always friendly and helpful with recommendations on where else to check out in the excellent town. A great range of drinks that the staff know inside out to point you in the right direction, and their security team is really responsive dealing with issues quickly and professionally, although there are not many issues there because the crowd respects the venue and each other. This is exactly how live venues should be! Parish is also great as a bar without going to a gig, it's got a great atmosphere and is very welcoming. I've yet to eat there but am looking for an excuse to try it! The bar has a great playlist, at a good level so you can talk, and the venue upstairs has a very loud clear Soundsystem.”

“Awesome place. Came to see my son's band Long Island who are Huddersfield based and we always go to Parish for gigs or food and drink. Can I just say the burgers we had were the best I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. Great choice of drinks, great atmosphere but above all the staff there are a credit. Welcoming, enthusiastic and engaging. Brilliant service. Can't wait to visit again.”
